By Stephen Cook and Anthony Morrison, September 28, 2014
Back in very early 2011, my partner Anthony ‘somehow’ found this site, which was then called the 2012 Scenario. It became our daily ritual to head online every morning to see what Steve Beckow (and what was then a very small team) had sourced, found or had to say about what was really going on in this crazy world we currently live in.
By October that year, I was hosting a Sunday afternoon show on ABC Digital radio here in Australia. I was so impressed by what The 2012 Scenario covered that I invited Steve on my national program as a guest interview.
As you can imagine, the subjects we discussed – including the cabal’s underground bunkers and the Galactics – may have surprised and challenged my audience. Yet while it was his first radio interview, things flowed beautifully. Afterwards, Anthony and I continued to read the blog, daily, and Steve and I remained in regular contact.
Then in February 2012, I was asked – and guided – to join the 2012 Scenario as an editor. It seemed right; destined to be. It fitted with my spiritual path. Anthony also came on board as an editor in March 2012 and, together, we found a group of people who we felt we’d known our entire lives (we had!).
It marked the beginning of a life-changing adventure which has been a most remarkable, rewarding and truly amazing journey.
On the one hand, it’s seen me go from blog editor to news editor to InLight Radio show host to event manager to speaker at the fabulous, energy-laden 2012 Scenario Conference in Sedona. It’s involved incredible work for me – often working up to 30 hours-plus a week to research, source, re-post or write news and other articles for the blog and up to a further 16 hours a week more when I was hosting, researching, producing, recording and editing my radio shows, The Light Agenda and Lift Your Spirit. It’s allowed me to use my journalistic and writing background and combine it with my own intuitive process for what’s really going on out there.
It’s seen Anthony pursue his Galactic and channeling interests and showcase his creative design skills on the site’s masthead and the InLight Radio and The Hope Chest logos, as well as the branding for The 2012 Scenario Conference.
Importantly though – and the most wonderful aspect of this journey – is that it’s seen us form incredible global friendships, while allowing us to enjoy being part of an unequalled team of like-minded, conscious souls dedicated to making this world a better place. It’s also seen us learn much, much more about our incredible selves.
The energy we’ve invested and the energy we’ve received has been amazing. The caring core group of volunteers we’ve served with every day since then (and I mean EVERY day!) have become a huge part of our lives… Steve, Casey, Suzi, Kathleen, Christina, Graham, Karen, Andrea, Geoff, Andrew, Alice, sage, Janice, Barry… the incredible people who give their time as volunteers – led by a man we sincerely call our great friend, the extremely generous (if somewhat vasana-occupied, tee-hee) Steve Beckow – to bring this blog, the Hope Chest and InLight Radio to reality each and every day of the year.
We’ve met weekly. We’ve talked daily. We’ve had big dreams. And bigger missions. We’ve come up with new ways of being and working with each other and we’ve crossed many bridges. Throughout it all, we know we LOVE one another.
We’ve also formed incredible bonds that cross the miles and years with many of you.
We’ve travelled to the US for The 2012 Scenario Conference in Sedona. A journey which allowed us to meet, face-to-face with our fellow volunteers and become friends with and/or meet-up with and/or stay with so many soul-enriching people – including our fabulous friend Blossom Goodchild, our ‘other’ mum Suzy Ward, Sheldan Nidle and his partner Coleen Marshall, my crying buddy John Smallman, and our beloved KP (Kauilapele), who energy-guided us around his favourite island in the world.
We’ve coffee’ed and caked with Fran Zepeda and American Kabuki and afternoon tea’d with Suzy Star and ate cactus with Mike Quinsey. We’ve even played light-sabre-wielding Jedi warriors with our ‘forever friend’ Genii Townsend in her ‘city of light’ lounge room.
We’ve befriended the super-talented Wes Annac, the delightful Nancy Detweiler, the gifted Suzanne Lie, light-energy musician Marco Missinato, Rosey and Donn, Gordana and Tom, Louise, Pat, Christopher, Phillip Schleinger and re-met Rebekah and Kevin and many others who’ve become as much a part of our journey as we hope we have of theirs. We’ve even had the pleasure of talking ‘chorneys’ with Taka Chi and being massaged and iConnected by the irrepressible DT the ET!
Who’d have ever thought that this would have all happened because we started reading a blog!
For all this we are eternally grateful.
I’m also very proud to say, I haven’t missed a single day since I started here – even working into the wee hours of the morning at times to get posts written and up. (Steve will totally relate to this: he arises at 3am, every day, to check the blog is in order before he returns to bed).
Then, last weekend, due to the fact we were going to be without access to the internet, I pre-posted 16 articles for the four days ahead. As I said to Steve earlier this week, to not have to think about the blog for the ensuing three days was actually, and surprisingly, liberating.
Whether it was that feeling of freedom, the pressures of earning a living, or simply this week’s Equinox energies, today – after over 960 days and more than 3500 posts – Anthony and I are letting you all know that we’ve realised we need to take a break from our 24/7/365 roles here.
This is for a variety of reasons. But mostly it’s because we’re exhausted from trying to keep our heads above water financially, and have the energy to earn a living every day, while at the same time produce the quality and quantity of work for the blog. Sadly, as we’re all volunteers here (and despite help from The Hope Chest) we can’t currently do both.
Yes, we always knew this was a volunteer journey and we accepted that. Right now though, as our friend Christina Mahler would say, we are simply ‘soul-tired’. We just can’t keep the pace up right now. There’s also an element of disillusionment and bewilderment as to why the Company of Heaven, via their chosen channels, has yet to come good on the many things they’ve said would happen by now – but are yet to transpire.
So today, we’re announcing that this week, I’m reluctantly stepping away from my role as news editor here and Anthony will take a break from his role as graphics and a channeled-messages editor.
As we do, we both want to sincerely thank Steve for his tremendous friendship, generosity and understanding. We’ve always had a truly great. close and respectful working relationship right from Day 1. We love the guy. And, I’d like to add, no matter what he tells you, this IS Steve’s blog – which he started with some insistence from his Galactic Roundtable (now Share 11) friends – and which we all still come to read, have become part of and have gathered together around. This blog and he brought us all together.
And we will be staying together.
Anthony and I are not going for good. And we’re certainly not leaving our beautiful friends in this wonderful caring, sharing family of volunteers – no way. We just need some ‘time out’ for a while.
In the meantime, to Joe, Nils, Mary, John, Dennis, Sitara, Frank, Patrick, Vicky, Mark, Cindy and the hundreds of others who send us news tips every day, keep doing so as Steve will very shortly be announcing a new news editor and whoever takes on the role will still need the many story tips you’ve kindly sent on to me. Plus, you can still contact us both via the Contact Us here on the site.
So it’s ciao – for now.
Much Love and Light, always…
Stephen and Anthony
