Call Your Senator and Demand the “Super Committee” Raise Revenue from the 1%

Today, when super committee Senator John Kyl went to a posh DC restaurant for a fundraising breakfast with donors, he was met with a surprise: scores of concerned citizens surrounded his table and filled the balconies to give Senator Kyl a wake-up call and a message: “It’s time to stop protecting the wealthiest 1% in our economy at the expense of the rest of us!”
Wall Street bankrupted our communities yet too many of our elected officials want to protect their friends on Wall Street.
Now the Super Committee, instead of asking corporations and the wealthy to pay their fair share, is asking us, the 99%, to make deep sacrifices we can’t afford. We are facing cuts to programs we depend on for healthcare, education, and retirement which help create the good jobs we need.
We know that we cannot cut our way out of this crisis. And we know the money is on Wall Street.
