Reader Casey has had enough. So what does he do? He stands forth as his truth. He emerges.
I asked him to write an article about it and here it is.
Notice him finding his courage, finding his voice. You may not agree with his viewpoint. You may not think a general strike is a good thing. So what? Emergence is the important thing.
We now have one more lightworker having found himself.
I ask you, as you read this, to see it as a study in emergence. Hear what it sounds like when someone emerges. And then you yourself, stand forth as your truth. Emerge.
A Call for a General Strike
Casey, March 10, 2011
To anyone lacking the courage, let me tell you that I found mine. I can no longer ignore my sense of decency and dignity. I’m tired of just going along and pretending that everything is fine. We have a right to have our voices heard, and have it mean something. I’m no longer going to put my time and energy into a system that is corrupted beyond repair.
As you probably saw on the news by now:
Scott Walker and the Wisconsin Senate have voted to strip the unions of their collective bargaining rights. In a procedural move, they split the financial budget of the original bill from its union busting aspects.
Apparently if finances are not involved, a quorum is not needed… and so the modified bill passed by a 18-1 vote. They did this in one day, with less than 24 hours’ notice as is required by law.
The thing is you have a right to peacefully assemble. You exercise this right every time you step across the room to talk to someone. You exercise this right when you go home to be with your family. And you most certainly have this right when you meet with your fellow coworkers and discuss your concerns. A right is not something that can be taken away, because it is your freewill and yours to use as you see fit.
Perhaps you’re not upset yet, as I am. Perhaps you’re still sleeping well at night. So let me bring a few things to your attention that you may have missed in the news in the last few years.
· The federal bailout of 2008 wasn’t $700 billion, it was $16 trillion. Yes that’s $16 trillion with a T. Trillions and trillions in no-interest loans given out to foreign banks without any congressional oversight and approval. https://articles.mercola.com/sites/articles/archive/2011/02/09/biggest-scam-in-world-history-exposed.aspx https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=GKnOnd79mV0 (Press the “Esc” kep if you don’t want to register)
· The title for your mortgage is probably gone. Wall Street used a small company called MERS to “robo-sign” millions and millions of mortgages so they could package them up and sell them as securities to investors. So even if you did pay off your mortgage in full, the paper trail to get a clear title no longer exists. These are the same Wall Street banks that were beneficiaries of the bailouts using your tax dollars. https://www.nytimes.com/2011/03/06/business/06mers.html
· According to the most recent information, the Forbes 400 now have a greater net worth than the bottom 50% of U.S. households combined. 400 people have more money than 155 million Americans combined. https://www.michaelmoore.com/words/must-read/forbes-400-vs-everybody-else
The rule of law hasn’t broken down, its working exactly as intended… because they are laws meant to rule and break us down.
How much more does Wall Street and the rich elite want from us? How much is enough if they already own the whole world? But what happens to their precious dollars when we are no longer willing to work for them and just decide to stop. To just stop….
Tomorrow, union or not… I am on strike. Perhaps indefinitely.
