I went to my website, What is Happening in America? (1) to find a quote for an article I’m writing and, in the course of searching for it, I came across some research I had carried out in 2007 on why America is ill-advised to go to war with Iran.
As we’ve discussed, Iran possesses “unstoppable” Sunburn and Yakhonts missiles that can take out a carrier group. (So do the Chinese.)
If Iran as a nation were not taken out totally in a pre-emptive strike, never mind just its reactors, which we know from our sources would never be allowed to happen in any case, it has the defensive capability to sink any American carrier force.
In light of this Admiral Fallon firmly resisted the idea of a war with Iran, telling a confidante, “it will not happen on my watch.” (2) Apparently Fallon’s willingness to put his career on the line took the Bush administration by surprise and stopped its forward momentum.
I did not remember that I had done this research. I won’t have time to turn it into an article and so I’ve mounted the raw data to this page, where you can view it: “Why the U.S. Would be Ill-Advised to Go to War with Iran,” at https://tinyurl.com/3ya486e .
This, along with Kerry Cassidy’s story that the Navy recently stopped an attempt to carry a nuclear bomb to the Middle East, should comfort those people who have concerns about war breaking out in the Middle East.
You can see which side the Navy is on. That’s why I consider them, by and large, among the Earth allies.
