Into this soupy environment, an Open Minds malcontent, resentful of being booted off the forum, reveals who Source A is – Lt. Cmdr Richard Thielmann. More allegations and counter-allegations ensue.
But you can see just the tortuous path that disclosure follows. Two steps forward, one step back. Truly we may miss the divine deadline for disclosure, at which point the galactics will do the job themselves.
I’ll post Michael Salla’s take on whether Cmdr Thielmann’s account of the Hot Rocks, T-Rexes and the U.N. meetings is trustworthy. His exposer, Stephen Broadbent of Reality Uncovered, maintains that Thielmann’s account is fraudulent.

I thought I ought to bring my readers up to date on the recent outing of an active duty naval officer working for an Ad Hoc Military UFO/ET Working Group. What surprises me is that Richard Theilmann, (Lt Commander) known as Source A, lasted so long before being outed.
A number of people could have outed him previously, but decided not to do so, because they felt this could be or is a legitimate and unprecedented case of the military deciding to work with civilians in the UFO/ET community to move UFO/ET disclosure forward. What resulted in the outing of Richard Theilmann was a combination of frustration amongst the more skeptical folks at the Open Minds Forum with the slow release of information, an ex-OM member banned for life, 🙂 and the usual suspects at Reality Uncovered.
The major event that lead to the outing was a Navy League Luncheon that Richard and Clay Pickering attended in which many pictures were taken and published on the Navy League website. This allowed both skeptics and investigators to work out the identity of Source A (Richard Theilmann) which was confirmed by Bruce Maccabee, Michael Salla, and just recently Robert Morningstar both having met Richard in the past and seen his active duty credentials. (Clay and Shawn Pickering still refuse to confirm the identity of Source A.) There is still some controversy if Richard is really active duty but it would seem that he moves back and forth from the reserve to active duty as classified operations demand.

Once again as we have seen time and time again in the UFO/ET community, the skeptics make virulent personal attacks, threats with noisy defamatory rhetoric, only to back track on the accuracy of their statements after the damage to the character of the whistle blower has already been done. This is happening already.
One skeptic wrote demanding a communication with Richard before Michael Salla’s second article came out. “Everyone we can find, The navy, navy league, naval order, his church, ex-wife and like I said … every know associate we can find is going to start to get phone calls and emails referencing the first article and possibly the update that is about to hit.”
Apparently the skeptics just don’t seem to get it that one individual could not pull off a long running hoax alone, a point not lost on Dan Smith who has had many years experience with intelligence community gamesmanship. Dan writes at OM,
“Well, Ozzy, This is exactly why the two-track disclosure/retraction strategy will work……..” “Because 99% of the people are just like you and Mur: they have one-track minds. As has been said: you can fool some of the people all the time, and you can fool all the people some of the time, but you can’t fool all the people all the time! ”
“And if you can’t hear the Disclosure clock ticking, wrt this double-track strategy, then you must be tone-deaf. If this were merely Richard’s personal hoax, would he still be continuing to perpetrate this hoax, while he is under real and imminent threat of arrest? Come on, guys and gals, let’s get real! ”
“In our conversation, last evening, I was surprised when Ron assented to my as*ertion [we can thank Garuda for catching the word-filter mangling!] that Theilmann must have had co-conspirators to pull off this ‘hoax’ to the extent that we have witnessed right here on OM, for the past two years. I doubt that he will readily repeat this assent, but I find it very provocative, just as it stands.”
“In referring to co-conspirators, I am definitely not referring to the Pickerings. When I met with the ranking staff member of the Senate Intelligence Committee, he told me that I could rest assured that I was dealing with some very competent people.”
“So, yes, this ‘conspiracy’, evidently based, in part, in the Navy, involves some of the most competent people in the Intelligence community. It should not, and does not, reflect poorly, in any way, on the intelligence or character of the Pickerings that theses extremely competent people, working on the highest priority intelligence operation in history, would be able to persuade the patriotic Pickering brothers to cooperate with LCMDR Theilmann. They have played a very important, and very competent intermediating role.”
“We should welcome them back here to help us now with the next stage of this very complex and sophisticated Disclosure process. I also hope, and strongly suspect, that LCMDR Theilmann will also continue participating in this process, indirectly, if not even directly right here on OM! Perhaps he should not appear here under his given name! Indeed, it is quite likely that he already numbers amongst our members.”
“But how long can the Disclosure team maintain two contradicting postures with respect to a single episode and individual, before a mainstream news organization finally decides that this ‘joke’ has been carried far enough? Can this suspension of journalistic logic be maintained through the mid-term elections? Should it be so maintained?”
“Or should we, indeed, be looking for D-day, on or about 10/10/10? That will be the day that a recognized reporter pops the question in the daily White House press-briefing. I believe that the electoral and communications infrastructures in this nation are sufficiently robust that it would behoove us to not waste time, delaying this process for a mere midterm election. It might even be better to have this on 10/10/10, just so we can, once again, demonstrate our democratic strengths to the rest of the world.”
Robert Morningstar weighs into the fray and further confirms the identity of Source A and just as importantly shows that Richard Theilmann is continuing to communicate and meet with civilian UFO/ET investigators. This is something that would not be allowed as Dan has clearly pointed out, if Richard did not have protection from some group in the intelligence community. Robert writes to Larry Bryant, myself and others,
“Dear Larry, With all due respect, Sir Lawrence, this is not a HOAX. I had dinner last night with Source A, the Pickering Brothers and a former Army Intelligence officer who also served in Viet Nam. I can tell you as your friend, supporter and confidant that the Commander is a dedicated career naval officer who did serve valiantly in Viet Nam. The information given by Broadbent about his age and service are erroneous and his assumptions unfounded.”
“I will be attending the Commanding Officers Dinner (as a guest of Source A) this week in New York City to honor the USN Captains and Commanders of the US Navy ships visiting NYC for Memorial Day and Fleet Week.”
“I think you know that I am not a hoaxer and would never have anything to do with anyone who is a hoaxer or a fraud. There is nothing in Broadbent’s ‘hit job’ that proves that the UN UFO Meeting did not occur. They are doing a great disservice to this honorable gentleman and if ‘A Blow to UFOlogy’ has been dealt, it is by them and their buffoonery, wrong inferences and poor detective work (based on a My Space page, of all things….Wow, what great scholarship!)”
“Furthermore, if you read Broadbent’s ‘expose’ closely, you will see that (his protests, accusations and assumptions notwithstanding) Broadbent actually confirms the standing of our Commander (Source A) as a reserve naval officer as bona fide member of the New York State Chapter of the USN Naval Commandery. Source A is ‘the Real McCoy.'”

After things cool down a bit, I hope that Richard and the Navy will think seriously about building on this developing interface between the UFO/ET community and the military. We really need to communicate across the cultural divide, that is growing ever larger and dangerous between civilians and the military as is obvious in this case already.
I suggest creating a civilian UFO/ET delegation to meet with a military delegation at Ft. Meade as soon as is feasible. Both civilians and military need to build on the developing relationships begun with the Pickerings and Richard Theilmann regardless of the opposition and criticism of those who just don’t have the conceptual framework to appreciate the issues and the task at hand. This sort of thing is going on elsewhere in countries like Brazil and France, so why not here?
