I would like to begin by reaffirming the power of the imaginal, imagination, which is quite different from ‘fantasy’.
A developed imagination is a high state ‘sense’ actually, that allows us to take mere ideas and concepts of the mind into another realm of experience; the realm of evoking ‘feeling states’ in the body.
The body receives, grounds, and expands what imagination plays with from the unseen worlds, resulting in a deeper knowing and often an enthusiasm to enter in, to participate with, the energies.
With practice and a passionate interest in what we are imagining, these feeling states can become as real as the material reality we walk around in every day.
This process is how I work with inspirations that come, images that flow through, and messages that guide me to work with the energies they represent.
A case in point!
Beginning in late winter, a preoccupation with images of the female sphinx showed up; not something that has been much in my consciousness, ever.
She would come to me during the rarefied hours just before dawn when many of us feel most open and available to other realities.
She appeared as an immense stone figure reclined in ‘lion pose’, seemingly asleep at the earth’s iron core.
In the visitation, the earth was halved like an orange, sliced from north to south, and she sat within the central magnetic grid, a huge chain encircling her back leg, holding her in place.
I sensed she was clearly not asleep. Her stone form glowed with an immense powerhouse of energy, roiling waves of ‘stuff’, emitting intense colors and swirling streams of light reminiscent of aurora borealis at its most eye-popping zenith.
She rumbled like the great matriarchs of elephant clans.
It was not long after this that I was led to an article by Gillian MacBeth-Louthan published in November, 2014 (Golden Age of Gaia). I had kept it for some reason, and in re-reading it, there it was, a serendipitous clarification of what I had been experiencing:
“Electro and bio-chemical imprints have been downloaded into sacred stone housings since time began, waiting for those of earth to receive a remembering into their biology.”
I was having such a ‘remembering’ of something familiar, deep in my biology. This was more than a walkabout in Egyptian history!
I was being shown a powerful way to connect with that which is being activated at this time on an immense scale by forces of Cosmic Nature, what we often call the divinely deep feminine; a sleeping force residing in our collective consciousness.
Having been imprisoned for 2000 plus years by forces intent on mesmerizing us into living out a paradigm that worships bondage, slavery, and servitude in a variety of forms as it feeds on malice, division, and human malaise for its continuance, the Sphinx is awakening big time, releasing herself into our present consciousness.
I want to elaborate on this bondage/slavery/servitude thing because my own ‘wake up and weep’ experience of it has been exponentially heightened, transformed into a ‘feeling’ state way beyond any political or moral ‘idea’.
We are the receivers and often unwilling transmitters of 2000 plus years of an ‘idea’ that it is OK, in fact, it is the normal state of human culture:
- To own and harness land and the fruits of those lands for our exclusive use and to work its richness non-stop until thoroughly leached of all life force,
- to own and harness bees trucking them from one area after another as a commodity to be worked non-stop in service to our ‘crisis in pollination’,
- to fence, corral, and sacrifice unreasonable numbers of animals for unreasonable amounts of food and breeding stock (vegetarian I am not),
- to own and harness humans, through addiction and cruelty, for sex and other indentured forms of work, and to bodily and psychically injure spouses, captives, animals, and children.
- to bully; a culture-wide epidemic of behavior prideful of rewarding hard-heartedness: harshness in speech, facial expressions and attitudes towards one another passed off as acceptable ways to show leadership and authority.
Illuminating these instances of servitude help me feel what I/we often find easier to pass off in generalities as products of low frequency habits of harm or background noise explained away as ‘just what is’.
Processes of awakening now require feeling states of experience, so that we undergo visceral physical changes that are rewiring us to engage beyond our domestication which teaches tolerance as ‘tolerating the intolerable’ (A crucial point).
In addition, awakening means admitting that slavery cannot be encapsulated into select bits of history like slaves building pyramids and Africans in cotton fields; it is an underlying fabric of all institutions informing how all life is perceived and treated.
My own increased allegiance to heart intelligence over intellectual ideation seems connected to this realization, not with the intention to berate a ‘them’ or go dark with despair, but rather to be empowered by stepping out of the shadow, seeing, really seeing, and naming that which must be named.
So, my take is this, the female sphinx showed up in my bedroom as a code awakener. She is a liminal being, one who bridges old world dissolution and the emergence of the one now emerging. She heralds the primal code of the deepest feminine, the Mother energies that instinctually activate a biology of care, bonding, and fierce dedication to Life; all attributes of the coming ascendancy of heart intelligence.
“How hungry the human heart is for an image of the Divine Mother that would, like an umbilical cord, reconnect it to the Womb of Being, restoring the lost sense of trust and containment in a dimension that may be beyond the reach of our intellect yet is accessible to us through our deepest instincts.” (Harvey & Baring, “The Divine Feminine”).
Sphinx represents the deep divine powerhouse that goes far beyond any intellectual supposings about what is masculine and what is feminine, and the balance of the two.
Instead, her rumblings signal dimensional shifts in the underpinnings of the very life force itself that has no real gender and reaches way beyond any known nomenclature we have, her language being truly that of experience, gut instinct, a deep moving force, a caring bond with life, a fierce dedication to the whole of things, all things.
This awakening giant, fierce protector of well-being, is gearing up to shake off, like a big wet dog moving at centrifugal force, all that remains stuck in the “mess”. And the dance between our own increasing vibratory rates, in concert with the earth’s own acceleration, may be the necessary push we are all feeling to assist her ‘home-coming’!
And to further discomfort our ideas of what an awakening of these energies looks like, let’s imagine that her rumbling mass is not expressing the accustomed rage and gnashing of teeth as it vanquishes an enemy, but rather, it signals deep-seated belly-hoots of laughter so hyper-sonically shattering that patterns of hero worship, hierarchies, restrictive ancestral bloodlines, national interests, racial markers and even planetary boundaries are dissolved, poof!
Imagination is a skillful means through which we can harness our own transformational powers and play with the extravagant energies we are all feeling to some degree within and without.
If, like me, you need an image of what is encoded in our essential human nature, you might work with the female sphinx. Visualize the intensity of her light, cracking us open, and the red-orange waves coursing through her belly mirroring Earth’s own heaving body mass. Imagine the chain falling away from her massive leg as liberation continues for Earth.
And…if, as Gillian MacBeth-Louthan writes: “imprints have been downloaded into sacred stone, lying in wait for a remembering to occur in our biology”, I offer Sphinx as an imagination-powered being showing up at this time imprinted with an instinctual biology of care and an impassioned service to life fueled by heart’s intelligence.
Her awakening is your awakening, and akin to the earth’s acceleration (Schumann resonance), vibrational uplift. Her awakening is the increase in light available to us, having now entered the photon belt again, after thousands of years. (Barbara Wren: “Planet Earth is Changing”).
The mess is being flung from her great body. We are in it, sharing it. It’s all us. I laugh for the joy of it!
