Politics & Ownership: Update… Hawai’i continues their stance that they’re independent!
Last week, I shared a story regarding the Kingdom of Hawai’i, and its declaration that it was illegally claimed by the US in the late 19th Century. This week, we learn more of what’s actually happening in those parts of our world.
“As you and most of the Hawaiian community know, Mauna Kea is considered sacred land. Traditionally, very few Hawaiians ever entered what was considered the realm of the Gods. You also know that for many years, those who want to build telescopes within these lands have proceeded to do so over the objections of those who seek to protect the sacred site. The latest intrusion is an 18 story monstrosity known as the Thirty Meter Telescope,” stated the King, Edmund Silva, in a letter addressed to the mayor, police chief, and the Department of Land and Natural Resources.
Sadly, we continue to witness tyranny and overt control when police forces arrest peacefully protesting individuals exercising their 1st Amendment right to assembly, and as such, the same has happened on the Hawaiian Isles.
“I am ordering the County of Hawai’i and all other entities complicit in the construction of the Thirty Meter Telescope and the arrest of those acting to prevent that construction to Cease and Desist. All work on the telescope should be suspended. All those arrested should be freed and charges dropped.”
The people of Hawai’i seem to very much cherish and honor their sacred land, as would any people with such indigenous values –so I would think. Consequently, this uproar was only a natural progression as the native people of Hawai’i stand their ground and protest the development of their land, for example, with the manufacturing of a gigantic galactic government telescope –obviously being built without the sanction and blessings of the people.
International Finance: Will Putin come to Greece’s rescue?
Alexis Tsipras, the Prime Minister of Greece, will be en route tomorrow for Russia to meet with President Vladimir Putin. It seems the EU might be a bit concerned given Greece owes the corporate cabal agency, the International Monetary Fund (IMF), a large debt repayment.
Differing opinions exist regarding the repayment to the IMF. A Greek minister stated IMF would not be repaid unless Greece received its bailout extension, while Finance Minister Yanis Varoufakis is adamant that Greece will in fact make said repayments.
Greek newspaper Kathimerini reported that if the Greek PM were find aid in Russia, then this would be considered totally “unacceptable,” and in turn, would be alienating the EU.
“Even without direct cash assistance for Greece’s dwindling government funds, threatening to defrost relations with Russia and trying to block further EU sanctions could be one of the few cards left in Tsipras’ hand in debt negotiations with the EU.”
“Even the countries which are sceptical of EU sanctions against Russia aren’t likely to be happy to be embarrassed by a single country, so it could work for Athens the short term. But anything that looks too much like cosying up to Russia runs the risk of souring Greece’s long-term relationship with the rest of Europe.”
Corporate Policy & Human Rights: Addressing Sexism in Silicon Valley.
I often report on human rights and discrimination cases here in Golden Age of Gaia’s News Roundup. “What for?” you might ask. Well, it’s simply to raise our awareness of the areas where individuals around our globe are stepping into their own power. It’s important we highlight such liberating events, not only in support of the “little guy or gal” standing up to the system, but also so we can step into our own power when opportunities surface in our own lives.
Of course, stepping into our personal power need not involve getting into some legal battle …no no no, that’s not necessary (unless you are so moved to do so for your own reasons or principles). Reclaiming our own power can take place in a myriad of ways: Big ways, small ways, and moderate ways.
For example, we can stand up to a bully, considering there are many emotional bullies found most anywhere: Bosses or coworkers, parents or teachers, friends or foes. We can reclaim our power when overcharged at the grocery or retail store. We can reclaim our power after mistakenly charged fees through our banks or utility companies.
Being able to stand up for ourselves is essential when we find ourselves in situations of when we could be taken advantage. Although we have officially entered the age of Unity Consciousness since December 21, 2012, dichotomous energies of Duality still linger within many of us, as we face what’s out of balance inside ourselves …heal it, and release it.
We all have that very work to do: Some of us have contracted to do it in the public eye, taking on policies in our world that remain to be out of balance, such as laws or practices that discriminate against others. Ellen Pao is one such person who’s agreed –at her Soul level– to take on this fight for the rest of us. Of course, she’s not the first and won’t be the last, but she is our current advocate to address sexual discrimination in the workplace. Enjoy the two minute video at the link below… Go Ellen!
“Ellen Pao has become a point person at the center of the gender debate in Silicon Valley after suing (her former employer) Kleiner Perkins for sexual discrimination…. The case unfolded amid frustration with the macho ‘brogrammer’ culture that prevails in Silicon Valley. Over the past year, big tech companies released statistics that showed only about 30% of the tech workforce are women.”
