Folks, I need to purchase a second Mac computer for the Bridge Fund. I’ve tried various sources to raise the funds and have not succeeded.
We’re still waiting for financial arrangements to be completed and so I don’t have access to the Bridge Fund itself. The Hope Chest does have enough funds to permit me to purchase a computer and the Hope Chest will be within a short time absorbed into the Bridge Fund. I’m proposing to borrow the money for the computer purchase from the Hope Chest.
But I won’t do this if there’s anyone who feels that the Hope Chest should not be used for this purpose. So I’m leaving comments open below and anyone who thinks this is not an advisable option or that it it represents even the appearance of a conflict of interest, please let me know. Buying a new computer for the Bridge Fund is not something I can personally afford or I would.
Three accountants (Karen, Gunjan, and Matt) have volunteered to do a financial report on the Hope Chest and are at work preparing it. I’ll be posting it as soon as they have that completed. And I do thank the three for taking this work away from me. I’m involved in meetings most of today and tomorrow and won’t be able to write a column during this period.
