This post discusses some of the recent problems with the daily digest and the website so please just skip it if you’re not affected or interested.
First, I think I know why so many of you have received copies of the daily digest which have a lot of encrypted code in it. On rare occasions, for one reason or another, instead of “importing” a photo into a post, I “copy” the photo in. When I do that, if you view the post from the html edit screen, you see hundreds of lines of code rather than a simple <img src> tag.
I think those hundreds of lines of code are what are causing the problem.
I say that because I sent one of this type of posts to the 2012 Scenario discussion group and Yahoo would not post it but gave a “truncated” message instead. When it did, the light bulb went on. So I will stop copying photos into posts and I apologize to people who have received messed-up daily digests.
At the same time, the answer to the messed-up daily digest does appear to be to “reply” to yourself and send that reply. Doing that seems to remove the messy code in the new copy. I don’t know why.
Second, Ryan, our webmaster, thinks he knows why the site slows down. He’s discovered that the settings for the SuperCache plug-in were set to reproducing/saving the entire site after each post. He thinks it’s that work that the plug-in mandated that slows the site down. He has now reset that setting to a more realistic one and believes that the site should now speed up and stay sped up. So we hope we’ve licked the problem of site slowdowns.
Third, the site going down the other day, just to repeat, was not a dark attack. It resulted from me getting a notice that I had to renew the domain name, thinking that notice was related to an old account I had with mediatemple, and ignoring it. But it actually did relate to the domain name and so I lost the domain name temporarily and the site went down. So the men in black did not hit the site.
Just to reassure people on those scores.
Also, to those who wrote in about the last post, in which I removed my mask and showed my true dinosaurian colors (dark), yes, the gentleman was not calling me a dark individual. I was simply having some fun with the whole thing. Poetic licence, if you will, on the part of the attackee. I view the whole incident, and the continuing attacks, with humor.
No, I don’t want to open comments on that article. I don’t want to give any more attention to the matter than a simple passing glance.
Let the storm rage. I have my popcorn and my Coke and I’ll watch the show curled up on the couch. The rising energies are too delightful for me to want to spoil your fun or mine.
