ParticipantI love table tennis. Or at least I used to. I love heaps about it.
I play quite well, but over the last 6-12 months, I’ve not been enjoying it.
I don’t enjoy mistakes: mine or those of my doubles partners.
And I don’t enjoy losing, nor luck that the opponent/s has/have.
Although I know I get just as much luck at times.
But overall, I just don’t enjoy it much any more.
When I win, it’s quite nice, but not a huge thrill. When I lose, I feel bad.
I’m about the worst loser in the club! Most enjoy it no matter what result.
I’ve done a TON of healing, and forgiveness a la ACIM. NOTHING HELPS!
When do I just say I’m outta here? What’s the point continuing if I don’t enjoy it?
I have no idea what I have to learn about this, but if forgiving doesn’t help, why bother?
Why put myself through this?! I just don’t get it.
I put SO MUCH work into healing & forgiving, and still get upset.
Sooner or later, surely it makes sense to just give it up.
Any thoughts?

KeymasterI don’t feel that giving up is an option. What does that mean, anyway? Does that mean that because you haven’t gotten the answer yet, it never is coming?
Here’s the thing, Ed…I’m just inviting you to consider that you simply haven’t discovered the core of what brings certain experiences into your life. Find a way to access your old indigenous soul, and get to tracking that event or series of events from your childhood that brought you to carry such a charge about losing.
It will take courage, and it would be great if you could find someone to hold safe space for you while you explore those painful places. You don’t need to carry that burden into the next, my friend. In fact, you cannot.

ParticipantGiving up means giving up table tennis. Simple and easy, although it would be a shame.
My perspective was this: why keep upsetting myself by playing and getting frustrated most of the time?
What am I, a masochist? Some situations you can’t leave. Some you can. Stopping playing is a choice I can make.
However, ideas have come to me this last day or so, around losing at tt, playing badly, mistakes, etc.
I’ve already done heaps of work around those issues, but then thought maybe the issue is just losing.
e.g. I was bullied as a kid, and moved often. Being good at games and sport brought me acceptance.
I’ve been doing more healing work around that, and forgiveness, and failure/failing as well.
Some charge initially, less and less as I do more work on those related issues.
So I’m quietly hopeful that with repetition, this might be the core that I can finally heal.
Thanks for your reply!

ModeratorHi Ed, I don’t know how interested you are in receiving (paid) guidance and assistance, but I have found Natalie Gianelli as a channel for Dr. Peebles to be extraordinarily on target. I joined the Simple Spiritual System that she launched last year and I’m finding that community to be supportive and interactive, and the offerings of the SSS to be very beneficial.
I’m just putting it out there. It’s not my intention to promote any channel (or service or product). I’m just offering what has benefitted me in shifting from feeling not so great to feeling pretty darn good, most of the time.

KeymasterIf you can identify a particular pacha (moment in time), it’s possible to rewrite the story within an internal visionary process. You’ve done enough work to know how to go about that…and now you know what to focus on. The energy is perfect for offloading the stuff we carry (like the lies we believed about ourselves because of whatever event / interaction).

Participanto.k. I have given this consideration, you should absolutely stop table tennis, not only is it utterly boring also it does not get you anyplace.
Take a look at the following hobbies for new directions.
-Go Parachute jumping,
-Go and restore a classic car,
-Go buy a sports car,
-Go exploring a mountainous region on foot, and even camp there,– and while we are at it, also why not totally change the music your listing too.
(This posting is some what bias to the fact the forum appears more dead than a life)

ModeratorHa! it’s true, the forum has gotten moribund. Thank you for livening it up.💗

PS, you forgot paragliding. Lasts longer than a parachute jump. -

ModeratorExcellent! I’ll suggest this song to the garage band boys across the street. Their repertoire is getting a bit tedious.

ParticipantAre you giving up? Or are you finished? The difference is this. Giving up means you’re done trying, you see no point. Being finished means you’ve done all you can and now you have to wait for others to catch up, to wait for that moment when you can make a difference, wait for new things to work on, wait for new insights, wait for clarity. I’ve felt like you feel many times, it always ends with: the next phase will show itself soon enough.

ParticipantHey Clairerobin:
Your comment obviously contained some trigger that “reminded me” of this:
Nearly 10 yrs ago I was standing inside a big bookshop with a friend I’d only known not for long looking at all the spiritual books, when I (quite surprisingly to myself) said “You can have most of those books from me… I’M DONE with all of that!”???😎… then went to relax in a big armchair nearby, WONDERING at what I’d just said but feeling EXTREMELY good about it…
After maybe 15 min I went back to her when “my arm reached out” for a book unknown to me to open it somewhere randomly, and what I read there “MADE ME CRACK UP”… loud.
AN ENTIRELY NEW JOURNEY then STARTED with this book, and “I’m a bit over the moon” from understanding what I only now CAN “realize FROM/BY writing this”.
And yes… “I had to wait for others” for years “WHILST WATCHING THEM INTEGRATE” though… a “lousy” concept for an only human brain “TO WRAP ITSELF AROUND” even if “spirits guides” are helping. 😏.
So “THANK YOU!” also for saying what you said “in between your lines” 💟.

ParticipantActually, no! I quote:
Cost of Flight Training. The average cost of flight school is typically between $8,000 and $15,000
Over here it’s 10x as much if not more. Madness! Even using a simulator costs a fortune.
Never mind, microlights are cheap here, cheap enough to be able to afford.
I’m still waiting on my advanced ET craft, though, they’re much easier to pilot!
