Okay, I know that sounds like a stretch. What’s light & fluffy about so much of what we’re all going through right now?
Probably not a whole lot.
I’d love to know what we do when we just want to play, forget all the seriousness, ignore “reality” for awhile…you know, maybe the way you did when you were unawake. 😉
Part of enlightenment is to, well, LIGHTEN UP. Dr. Peebles has a saying, one of the best ways to be enlightened is to lighten up. He’s always encouraging play, imagination, relaxation, being rather than doing. Much like other channels advise.
I have a couple of well-thumbed book series I keep rereading, which I’ll list in another post. I play with my cats. I give my dear mummy a hug. I go out in the garden, not to do anything but just to smile at the plants and say hello to Gaia.
I’ve even been known to zone out in front of old movies and TV series. Not so much new ones, they require too much concentration.
So please do share! Even recipes. Why not? We all gotta eat.

I enjoy reading, and lately I’ve been reading a lot of books pertaining to spirituality in various ways. For example, I’m currently reading Earth Magic by Steven D. Farmer, and just finished The Way of the Shaman by Michael Harner. I feel drawn to Old Ways of spirituality that involve a direct relationship with Gaia and Nature Spirits, not just the ones originating in ancient Europe, but also the beliefs of peoples indigenous to the Americas and other continents as well. Some use the word pagan to describe these Old Ways, but I’ve never cared for the word pagan. The word comes from the latin paganus, meaning “country dweller”, and The Church adopted it over a millennia ago to suit their orthodoxy, giving it a new, negative definition to generalize a complex spiritual way of living and lump people into a single group of those that believe in “false” gods. Back to light & fluffy stuff… Other recent reads that broadened my understanding of how everything works are two books by Peter Tompkins, The Secret Life of Plants and The Secret Life of Nature. I highly recommend those two books about sentience, and how every living thing has a spirit and a voice.
I love gardening, and have been a gardener for 25 years. I started likely the same way many others started, a few vegetable plants and mixing a blue powder in water to get them to grow and believing that certain bugs eat plants and that’s just what they do. I’ve come a long way, having gone into organic gardening, then moving beyond that and now I do biodynamic gardening. Biodynamics is the spiritual way of gardening, and if others are interested I’m happy to start a thread about it touching on some of the fundamentals. Gardening has generally brought me peace and has been an escape, though in the past sometimes I have found myself on auto-pilot in the garden while thoughts of worry or other life challenges swirl through my mind. It’s still winter here and flurries are falling outside as I write this, but spring is fast approaching and I’ll be starting seeds indoors for this seasons garden in just two weeks. I can’t wait!!
I like to take walks in nature as a way to forget about reality, or what I now realize is and I call “other peoples consciousnesses”. I have a small farm, so usually daily I’ll walk through fields or into a small woodland where I made a little log bench and sit, just listening to birds and whatever the wind whispers to me. I’ve had some lovely meditations this winter sitting on that bench, and that always lightens me up.
Something else I’ve gotten into that takes my mind off of everyday life that I’ve really come to enjoy is baking bread. I started with bread machine breads, and have now recently done some doughs made by hand. There’s something satisfying and almost magical about assembling flour, water, salt & yeast and it transforms into a new creation, almost with a life of its own.
Another creative activity I really like is making birdhouses. It fills me with joy to make a birdhouse and then watch a brooding pair of songbirds make it their new home and build a nest, and if I’m lucky, catch the opportunity to watch the parents call their young from outside telling them it’s time to embark on life’s journey, and watch the little ones take their first flight into the grass below. 🙂

I suspect a biodynamics thread would go over well. Maybe it will entice Lori to come back. She’s very much a gardener as well and I suspect you and she have much in common. She used to post as Gardenlor and then changed her handle to I don’t remember what, I’ll find out and add it here. She said she would be “out in the garden” in the next timespan, and not to expect her here too much.
I checked. Lori’s “newer” handle is “living soil.”

I have always felt a disconnect with other lightworkers because I almost never go outside my apartment for any reason aside from going to work, grocery shopping, and other miscellaneous errands. I don’t understand why I don’t have a love of nature like everyone else in our community, but I just throw my hands in the air and give up trying to change my likes and dislikes; I have no idea what my Higher Self was thinking and I doubt I’ll know for some time. What I do know is that I created this personality for a reason.
Anyway, as some of you already know, I love anime. It’s hard to share just how magical, fantastical, and creative anime can be. It can sometimes get dark, or lewd, but I usually stick to the stories that are full of adventure and friendship because I’m a sucker for that stuff. I haven’t gone to watch any shows on my own lately because I don’t feel such a strong desire to escape into a different reality as I did when I was younger. As strange as it may sound, I like this world that I’m in right now, and it’s quite a thrilling plot. Now I just watch shows with my husband because I like sharing stories with him. We take turns showing each other shows that the other hasn’t seen.
Another hobby that I enjoy is playing video games, which my husband also loves to do. Getting lost in another world is a bit more fun when you can interact with the story and choose how you want to keep progressing. The types of games that I play are mostly adventure stuff, RPGs (role playing games), and puzzle games. I don’t like shooter games, they are very boring and violent, and the media loves to use them as their scapegoat for their yearly “video games are creating murderers” news headline. Games are a form of release 99.9% of the time. I do believe that the shooters can desensitize kids to violence, which isn’t good, but it normally doesn’t make kids more violent unless they already have some mental health problem.
Alright, stepping off my soapbox… lol.
I like to do macramé and wrap stones to make jewelry that is beautiful and functional. I currently wear a necklace that I made with a gorgeous double pointed clear quartz crystal, she is a truly stunning crystal, I love her so much. I named her Christina because I am silly and sentimental like that, and she helps me all the time with energy work. I wear her to work every day and she helps me keep my vibrations high. Lord knows I need it since I work at a fast food restaurant; all those chaotic energies swirling around, coming and going, nonstop through all hours of the day.
And that’s pretty much my life in a nutshell; when I’m not at work, I watch anime, play video games, and create macramé jewelry for myself and my loved ones. Maybe someday I’ll be frolicking in a meadow with the rest of you lol.

I’m really glad you got on your “soapbox” about video games. That world is a complete mystery to me. The most I know is that my friend’s then-19 year old son was so absorbed while wearing VR goggles he stumbled and fell into the big flat screen TV and broke it. It’s never sounded healthy to me (addictive in nature) so I’m very glad to hear you describe it a warm and positive light. Thank you for that.

I’m happy to share my thoughts on video games, and I’m glad you’re interested.
I would say that a large portion of video games are very wholesome and enriching. Making video games is an art form; it can offer so many different experiences, such as a gripping and powerful story. If a game doesn’t have a story, or the story is very basic, then perhaps it offers a very unique style of gameplay that challenges the player to really hone their precision, speed, and reaction time. Or a game might have puzzles in it that are incredibly mind bending and give players the chance to think about their spatial awareness in a new, unorthodox way.
Games have the power to bring joy and community into one’s life, and even make you smarter.
However, there is a dark side to everything, and video games are no exception.
There is a large portion of games that are extremely violent, sometimes to the point of ridiculousness. There are some first-person shooter games that actually have really good stories, or the gameplay involves multiple people so it encourages teamwork. They aren’t evil, but we are moving away from violence, so eventually no one is going to play them anymore; they’ll just be a relic of the past.
There are video games out there that are actually evil, made by horrible greedy and malicious people. Large game publishers like Electronic Arts (EA), Bethesda, Square Enix, Konami, etc., put gambling mechanics in their games that are horrendously unfair because the laws in most countries have not caught up with the times and do not yet recognize those video game mechanics as gambling. They put those awful mechanics in games that they label for children, and then families get ruined because little Joey stole mom’s credit card and emptied it out trying to get his favorite soccer player in Fifa 2020.
Those same publishers and many others will also maliciously exaggerate the quality of the games they put out, hide their games from reviewers, and then put out an unfinished, crippled product, running away with the money from pre-orders and day-one sales.
Luckily, the gaming community has not been tolerating a lot of the arrogant and greedy actions of these game publishers for a few years now and are actually making progress in changing gambling laws in their countries to include the gambling mechanics in video games. They also are asking legislators to create more oversight on the game industry in general so publishers can’t release unfinished games and essentially scam people out of their money.
I want to make an important distinction. Game publishers and game developers are two very different groups of people. The developers are the actual teams of people who create the games, and the publishers give them the money to make them, market them, and distribute them to the consumer.
Game developers are usually lovely people, just like you and me, and they just want to make a quality product for the players. The publishers are the greedy monsters who force the developers to release games before they’re finished, or add in gambling mechanics to steal everyone’s last dime. The developers just want to make art, while the publishers just want to make money.
Not all game publishers are awful, but most of the really big and well known publishers have dabbled in the gambling mechanics, including Sony, Microsoft, and Nintendo. Most mobile games are glorified casinos, just stay away from them.
There are lots of smaller game publishers that are very caring, and actually want to make good games because they respect the art form. Devolver Digital is one good example of an indie developer and publisher that makes great games and has good communication with its fans.

I forgot to talk about Christina. I probably should be clearing her energy more often than I am. I don’t know how often is best though. I should do research on cleansing crystals. I use a selenite disk for cleansing my crystals. It has the flower of life symbol carved into the face of the disk, I like it quite a bit.
Speaking of other crystals, I have a solid sphere of rose quartz that is roughly the size of a baseball or tennis ball. I love her so much, she is absolutely gorgeous. I call her Pinky. The energy she radiates is so soothing. I sometimes use her as a visual aid for sending love to Gaia, and because rose quartz symbolizes love, the energy is amplified.

Where do y’all get your crystals and other cool stuff? Is there an online seller that is trustworthy, and by trustworthy I mean run by a soul of Light with a good heart. I hate to have to ask that question, but I hear there are dark ones out there masquerading as Light and may be selling crystals and other items with intentionally infused dark energy.

Yes, discernment as always is really kinda where I’m coming from. I’ve heard the dark ones have channelers, and they’re easy to pick out as the messages are essentially the polar opposite of the Light messages. There’s nothing uplifting about those messages. I wouldn’t put it past them (dark ones) to use every trick they can think of to grasp and cling to what little they have left as the their dense ways of control and lies continue to crumble, including sneaky ways to get dark energy into the homes of the Light Ones to attempt to throw them (us) off balance.

I want to add that when you buy crystals online, you can still get a good “feel” for them and know if they’re right for you. If possible, though, it’s wonderful to browse in person.
Remember that you can buy many powerful crystals as beads and make your own bracelets etc.
Which reminds me, Fire Mountain Gems has lovely jewelry making and bead supplies etc. I especially like that they identify when material isn’t totally natural, i.e., has been enhanced, colored, etc.

I wish to explore this topic of hobbies and entertainment further. I know we all here can connect with each other on a spiritual level, but I feel that we haven’t quite connected on a human level yet.
We talk all the time about ideas, topics, and experiences that are “spiritual” or “high vibrational,” which of course they are, but the Divine Mother has said many times that everything is spiritual because all things come from Her. So I really want to dig into the details of the kinds of things you all enjoy as entertainment, like music, movies, tv shows, books, etc.
I will start the chain by talking about my interests in music.
I do have a growing love for meditation music and singing bowls, but the genres I really really love are, in order of favorite to least favorite: EDM (electronic dance music), metal, alternative, and hip hop.
For that last one, I am extremely picky about which hip hop songs I listen to because a lot of it is really gross, especially the popular songs that get on the radio.
I find that there is an overflowing abundance of EDM songs that are wholesome, meaning that they haven’t been produced by soulless Hollywood and injected with satanic energy. EDM is probably the most accessible genre of music for content creators because you don’t have to be good at singing or be able to play an instrument, so it offers a playground for creative young people. A lot of famous and well off EDM artists are around my age or even younger sometimes.
As for metal, I would say I’m picky with that one too because people do use that harsh sound to let out anger and violent thoughts, and I avoid that stuff as much as possible. My favorite metal artist is Maynard James Keenan, who is the lead singer of three bands! Those bands are Tool, A Perfect Circle, and Puscifer. I would say Maynard is very awake, some of the stuff he writes in his songs makes my jaw drop.
One of my favorite songs of Maynard’s is called Parabol/Parabola. It’s technically two songs, but Parabol leads into Parabola seamlessly, so I consider them to be one song. Maynard talks about how this reality is an illusion and our souls are eternal in that song, it blew me away when I first heard it.
Alternative as a genre is very difficult to describe. I think that the core of that genre is being a melting pot. For example, say you’ve got a song here that kind of sounds like rock, but it doesn’t have enough musical characteristics to be categorized as rock, so you throw it into the Alternative pile. Or you have a hip hop song that isn’t quite hip hop — call it Alternative! It’s like a weird grab bag of miscellaneous things, so you can have songs that sound kind of pop-ish, or country-ish, or metal-ish, but they don’t have enough characteristics to be put in those genres, so they go in Alternative. I like that a lot about Alternative because it helps you explore what genres sound good to you.
My favorite EDM song right now is called Cartographist by Purity Ring. That song has one of the most otherworldly sounds that I’ve ever heard, it’s hauntingly beautiful.
My favorite Alternative song is Empire Ants by Gorillaz.
My favorite Metal song Dear Brother by Puscifer.
My favorite Hip Hop song is Starboy by The Weeknd.
I’d like to mention something about The Weeknd. Abel (The Weeknd’s real name) somehow feels different to me than a lot of other Hip Hop artists. I really feel sorry for the guy because in his most recent album, I have been able to really sense that he’s crying out for help. He doesn’t want to be a part of Hollywood anymore and he’s slowly losing his mind. I don’t listen to him much these days because he’s just being a sad boy.
After the album Starboy, where he was starting to learn how to love and seemed like he was headed in a good direction, the girl he was dating, Selena Gomez I think, broke up with him after he poured so much effort into the relationship, and I think he snapped. Now all he talks about is going back to his old ways of being a player and doing a lot of drugs. I really want better for him, but he needs to figure it out on his own of course.

Great idea, Alex! I so relate to wanting to hear about, and share, our more human sides. Most of what I write is the nitty gritty day to day, highs and lows, what brings joy, or sadness. How do I feel? Do I know why? Sometimes I just want to express what is, not analyze or describe it as a “spiritual experience.”
I love reading mysteries (over and over—I don’t care that I know the plots, I just like being with these characters). The Aunt Dimity series is especially warm and fuzzy because it’s not violent at all—there’s no murder to solve, it’s another kind of puzzle.
I loved soft and some hard rock of the 60s and 70s and later decades, but have paid little attention to newer popular music. Now I listen to classical (includes things like ragtime and movie/TV music).
There’s an endless number of weeds to pull, and I’m realizing it’s artistic in that it’s silent, nonverbal and spatial, similar to drawing. I think it’s the kind of “mindless hobby” you’re looking for but you’d need a patch of dirt like a community garden and you’ve said you don’t really like being outdoors…

Hi Alex,
My compliments first to your regained happiness. Ohh how I love to read your posts. Your writing moves in a natural flow that’s really very enjoyable and inspirational. I did look up Maynard James Keenan yesterday in Spotify and listened to some of his works. It needs to grow on me to be honest, but I will give it another try.
Music for me personal is very much attached to the state I am in already. It equally has the power to shift my state and I sometimes use it for this purpose only. So nowadays and for a very long time during my awake state, I adore Sinead O’Conner. Here is a Spotify Playlist Link I selected. Furthermore I love George Michaels work, especially his album “Older”. Besides that I like classical music, mainly as background music and there is one genre not so many are familiar with (my guess) and that is Rondo Veneziano where classical music is played with modern instruments. Finally I like to listen to some latin music for having lived in the Dominican Republic.
I guess my long life passion is movies. Simply for the fact I grew up with them. Reading only came later and sometimes I lack the patience or the endurance to start or finish books. Reading articles and studying, especially spiritual ones are my current passion. The funny thing with movies is, I notice to be attracted to see familiar older ones again. Where they first were just a visual journey build around a plot, I nowadays see and feel more. I appreciate the camera work, the music, the dialogue, the acting and the whole bunch combined.
I also enjoy playing some games on my tablet. “June’s Journey” is an example of a game I like. Also Sudoku’s I enjoy at least two times a day.
Finally I love to walk in nature, much more nowadays then before. Also I love to make yogurt, bread and mayonnaise hahahahaha. It’s like my own small alchemist creations, being amazed by the result everytime.

Love hearing a bit more about the 3D Ralph. Yogurt and bread and mayonnaise, who would’ve thought?!😘 I bought a ridiculously complex bread maker when the lockdowns first landed and all I really make in it is French style sesame bread (delicious). Someday hope to branch out into more homemade styles, even if it starts in the bread machine.
Since you’re so fond of movies, and different kinds of music including classical, you might enjoy the free Movie Music stream on the KUSC app (or online, KUSC.org).

You know the yeast fascinates me, equal as the yogurt micro organism. They transform the original base into something extra ordinary. I love it. The mayonnaise is just funny how I always knew a product in a jar and am able to construct it myself. Anyway in the future I will share something more, like my carb/sugar based diet to my current fat based. Probably a temporary alteration, before yet a new best diet for your body. However the fasting is a real mind changer and body experience.
Spotify comes in free or payed versions. I think you always need an account though. I love Springsteen too, just like many others. Like very much the unplugged series, like Neil Young for instance. Music is for me equally as a color. I like them all, but not equally constant all the time.

Music has been a journey for me. I currently listen to solfeggio frequency healing music. It’s completely electronic, well except for the ones with things like chimes or tibetan singing bowls, but largely electronic. It’s really mellow, flowing sounds, what I might used to have called quaalude music. Funny, I swore off electronic music two decades ago, as I used to do a lot of drugs like ecstasy and other psychedelics, and listened to a lot of electronic music which then became a total turn-off for me as it reminded me of who I no longer am, but I’ve really found healing music to be, well, healing. So I guess I did come full circle in a way with electronic music, but not the same kind of electronic.
I absolutely used to love classic rock like Sugarloaf, Hendrix, Grand Funk Railroad, Zeppelin, Creedence, etc, etc. I just drifted away from it not too long ago. Looking back now it seems like it was an indicator of my increasing vibrations and just no longer aligning with lower vibration things. Recently I learned about the dark influence a large volume of rock, and other music, has in it; frequencies imbedded with the intent to disconnect the heart. Of course, I thought to myself. It made so much sense, the dark forces behind everything seek to keep humans from knowing their direct connection to Mother and their Higher Self, and what a great way to subliminally affect us than through cool music. I got started with the disconnecting early, listening to Motley Crue, Rolling Stones, Judas Priest, Van Halen among others when I was like eight or nine years old tinkering away in my parents basement. And what better assurance than when mom & dad come down the stairs to tell me to turn that music off and not listen to that station. “ok mom”, and as soon as she leaves I change it back. And the biggest offender of them all? Led Zeppelin. Ivo even talked about Robert Plant flashing illuminati hand signs on stage. I used to love listening to the Lemon Song and Stairway… Oh well. I don’t feel like I’m missing anything now.
I went through a Grateful Dead period in my mid twenties, and that’s like all I listened to for a number of years. There’s an absolutely enormous amount of Grateful Dead music out there, and I had what seemed like a lot but was maybe 10% of their material. I was into all the peace & love and smoking weed all day, minus the patchouli of some of my neo-hippie friends at the time.
I did get into classic country music for a little while about when I turned 40, but by that time I was sober and I found most of those songs about drinking, being drunk or going to get drunk, though I think Dave Dudleys song Two Six-Packs is pretty clever and catchy.
But now it’s all solfeggio and a little bit of classical thrown in when I want to hear instruments played by living people and not digital sounds.

All very astute about your changes in musical taste, Thomas, in relation to where you were-are with awareness. I hadn’t thought about the deliberate low vibe in much of rock music, but of course. Probably why I haven’t been interested in it for years. I still have a soft spot for Springsteen and hope he’s not tainted, but odds are…😐

I recently finished reading Waking Up in 5D by Maureen St. Germain. Lovely book and I had learned quite a bit from it. I do recommend it to others.
I also just finished Connecting With The Fairies by Flavia Kate Peters. Great book with a lot of poetic invocations to use. I believe those following an earth based path would enjoy reading it.
