  Hydroxychloroquine is a medication primarily used to treat autoimmune diseases such as rheumatoid arthritis, lupus erythematosus, and certain types of malaria. In rheumatoid arthritis, hydroxychloroquine helps alleviate symptoms such as joint pain, stiffness, and swelling, while also slowing the progression of the disease and preserving joint function. For lupus erythematosus, Hydroxychloroquine 400mg is effective in reducing inflammation, preventing disease flares, and managing various symptoms such as skin rash, fatigue, and joint pain. Additionally, hydroxychloroquine is used as a prophylactic and treatment for certain types of malaria, particularly in regions where chloroquine-resistant strains of the malaria parasite are prevalent. Its mechanism of action involves modulating the immune system and inhibiting the growth of parasites, making hydroxychloroquine a versatile medication with diverse therapeutic applications in both autoimmune diseases and infectious diseases such as malaria.
