If you’re skiing for Olympic gold, you’re going to be very subtle in your movements. Everything is flying at you without time to think.
Moderation is like the subtleness of the Olympic skier in the downhill course of life.
Here I go repeating myself. But I need to if I’m to continue.
The purpose of life (pay attention, back there) is to know who we are. Who we are is God and when one of us realizes that, God meets God. And for that purpose was this Olympic ski hill of life created. (1)
Haven’t you heard? After we leave the Storm we’re already in, we find ourselves cannonballing down an Olympic slope. Nice.
And moderation in all things is what gets us through it, (2) while also having enjoyed it, as the Mother wants:
Divine Mother: It was always intended that this be my planet of love. (3)
DM: I have created, and Gaia has created a place for my angels to play. (4)
The significance of moderation is that we don’t grow strongly attached to what the Buddha called our cravings or aversions – our likes and dislikes. Not being strongly attached to either, we can move as swiftly through physical life, learning our lessons and not getting bogged down, as possible.
Physical life is designed to offer humans the lessons they need to wake up from ignorance of who they are to knowledge. (5) The Law of Karma is the schoolteacher.
Not fussing too much with likes and dislikes leaves us maximum space for love.
Remember that Michael said that one reason they opened my heart was that I had completed enough of my core issues (vasanas) (6) that I had created space for love.
Archangel Michael: You have created the space for this [energy of love] to, not only pass by you like a passing breeze or a rain, but to anchor within you because there is a sense of this spaciousness within thee. (7)
Moderation is not abstinence and it’s not hedonism. It’s not being captured by what we’re eating, drinking, or anything else…. Or repulsed. It allows us to sample but not get attached. And the sampling brings us into contact with other people, which hastens our learning who we are.
“Captured” can be just as much because we’re pushing something away. As Werner Erhard said, what we resist persists. What we allow soon departs.
Are there any exceptions, to this law you’ve referred to, Mr. Beckow?
Yes. There is only one but it has many names. Love.
Among those names are God, the Divine Mother, the Trimurthy, Jesus, Buddha, Krishna, on and on.
Or Shakti, Kali, Dharma, Royal Glory, the Holy Spirit – what difference to the Father/Mother One does a name make?
All names of the Divine are simply names of the One. Write them on your ten fingers. That about reflects the situation.
Case for abstinence and hedonism dismissed. You’re free to ascend.
