Tom has allowed us to post a portion of his recent reading in which the Divine Mother appeared and talked with him via Linda Dillon about grieving and soul exhaustion. Tom is a self-professed doer. He also recently lost his dog Kena, which triggered grieving.
She counsels Tom to take rest and receive. She offers him a new interpretation of receiving.

Divine Mother: Greetings. I am Mary, I AM Maré [the Ocean of Love], universal Mother, mother of one, mother of all. And yes, sweet one, mother of your sacred self. And I step forth in the gentle awakening and the gentle re-anchoring of your sweet self into a different calibration, a different frequency, a different reality.
Now there are several things that are transpiring with you, my beloved son. There is no law against tiredness. There is no law against soul exhaustion. There are times of rest of what you think of as time out, to recoup, to recover, to be reignited, redirected.
You are grieving even with the knowing that your sweet Kena is not only with you, but with all of us, and certainly with [Saint] Francis. And she is as playful as a puppy. And she is so excited to be home.
When I have walked the Earth as Mother [Mary], my sweet boy, Yeshua, had a pet goat of all things, but he loved that goat and it traveled with him everywhere. There are often references to the lamb, but in fact it was a goat.
Now when the time came and that goat departed, even with all the knowing, there is the physical, mental, emotional grieving and loss. There is the empty space.
And on top of that grieving, sweet one, there is the grieving for the Collective, for what is being left behind, for what has not been made readily apparent to all and this type of burden – let us call it what it is – is exhausting.
And that is why I refer to it as soul exhaustion. It’s not just a physical tiredness. This is you – and, let me tell you, this is me – embracing you and saying it is time to simply take a rest.
Yes, you have always been a doer, for it is part of what brings joy into your life, particularly as you do both in seen and unseen ways for others. Part of your expansion, beloved, is also remembering, not learning, simply allowing the awakening that I have already placed within thee, which means the balance of allowing us, yes, all of us, to attend to you.
It cannot be one sided. You know that when you are caretaking, nurturing, supporting another, and you do so gladly. But there also comes a time when you wonder if there is ever reciprocity, because that is what creates and anchors the knowing, not only of balance but of sovereignty, of divine authority, of the willingness to not only nurture, but to be nurtured.
Now, do not worry. You will not live in this state of feeling blasé, yes, what the channel has called ennui. It is perfect. You are preparing. We are filling you so that you are ready for your next steps – and not that you are not prepared.
And you say this. Well, Mother, I’ve been preparing for 80 years and 80,000 years.
It is that it will be done in joy of each step, each footprint that you live and breathe, each footprint that you leave in the grass or the snow or the sand is filled with joy so that those who walk after you feel and receive the joy that you are anchoring on planet with and for them.
So yes, this is a slight pause. It is not a pause for months or years. It is not a redirect, a change of plan for which you will say, thank heavens, quite literally. So it is simply my request to you to open and receive because I and we wish to give to you this understanding, this deep, profound, not just mental comprehension of what it truly means to receive.
That sacred nature of the exchange, it is needed, nay it is fundamental, to being able to receive in what you think of as other tangible ways, because with that understanding of receiving is also the deeper knowing, the knowing that is already there, but the awakening and the expansion of that knowing of how receiving is to be used. And in that, in that expansion of your comprehension, you are also helping, assisting me and many in the understanding of how receiving is to be done.
It is not just a flow through; it is you, [as] with many, in the ancient wisdom, in the knowing, you receive not only [so] that you can give. You receive so that you know the depth, the breadth, the magnitude. …
You always allow this nurturing to fill you and blossom and expand before you then move into giving. So you are in receptor mode, allowing this not only to restore your soul exhaustion, but to blossom, to expand so that there is a smile on your face and your heart and your tummy and your feet. And then we proceed according to our plan and yours.
So do not feel, sweet one, beloved son, that because you have had this sense of, shall we say, not displacement, just pause, that somehow you have gone on a scenic detour. That is not the case. It is just stay still, enjoy, receive, expand and be ready. …
I am ever present [with you] as you are ever present with me. You are deeply, deeply loved. Farewell.
