Does anyone remember all the talk about the Mayan Calendar and how time would speed up by a factor of 20? We had a lot of talk about this in 2011 and 2012. I remember thinking to myself, how in the world will that look? What will that feel like?
I’ve been paying close attention to this time element in my experiences to see if I could perceive this change that was supposed to occur. I can say, that for me, time absolutely has seemed to speed up. The amount of information I go through in a day, how quickly I integrate it and ‘make it my own’ is phenomenal compared to two years ago, for instance.
At the same time, it’s been stressful too. There’s so much to integrate, to release as no longer relevant, to create in order to replace that which isn’t relevant anymore. Busy, busy, busy, busy.
Particularly for those of us who’ve been slogging along on this path for decade after decade, and are so very tired of all the waiting for something important or paradigm shifting to occur, the need to push through the barriers and just ‘please let’s get on with it’ is huge.
Portal after portal of energetic expansion and all the shedding of whatever business can’t pass through with us, all this and more. It’s been quite a ride.
So much so that I find when there is a space between frantic activity of one sort or another, I almost don’t know how to act. Relax? Huh?
Which brings me to an on-going conversation we’ve been having on the forum for a couple of years now. This is concerning the honoring of the spaces between.
The talk about spaces between began because of the forum guidelines asking for no posting of solid blocks of text. Without proper paragraphs, the message is just lost in a big jumble of words.
It’s understood that in order to integrate these words and understand the message contained in them, we need those spaces to be there. The spaces between words and the spaces between paragraphs is the space that allows for the spirit to move and for this understanding of content to take place.
The reason I mention this is to point out that this same principle applies to the spaces between activity, the lulls between one speaker and another in an exchange during a conversation, in the period of absence between this meeting and when we meet again.
How we allow this integration period to happen, and how contracted or expanded we feel during the spaces that are ripe with the opportunity for our spirit to move is important.
These thoughts have been asking me to share them here for some time now. Just today, I’ve been struggling to manage the tendency to want to push into activity, even when the opportunity is here to simply be and to integrate all the flurry of stuff going on nearly every waking moment.
Not so expansive over here, I’m afraid… Sigh…
So, I’d like to take this moment to honor the spaces between. Those times when the spirit can move, when meaning can be integrated and understood, when magical adjustments can happen without any levering or activity directed put upon it.
If there were a word to describe this moment, perhaps it would simply be, OM….
