The Thirteen Blessings and Virtues are the foundation of our being. These qualities are our very core as well as our internal rather than external markers in the bringing forth of Nova Earth.
The Council of Love in Linda Dillon’s book, The Great Awakening poses questions and answers:
“What is the new foundation upon which Nova Earth is built? It is the thirteen Blessings and Virtues. This is the core of everything you will value and bring forth in the new reality.
“This is the foundation of what you create and co-create. . . If the virtues are not an inherent part of your being, how do you then translate it into form as you build the new institutions, systems, communities, and cultures of Nova Earth?” (1)
The first of the thirteen Blessings and Virtues as explained in The Great Awakening is prudence:
“Prudence: Twin of temperance. The ability to know in all situations when to proceed and when to retreat; when to take action and when to be still; when to offer help and when to keep silent; to know in exact measure what is required whether it is in baking a cake or healing a psychic injury.
“All things in correct measure. Prudence encompasses the quality of moderation, the genuine knowing and practice of everything in balance. No one person can live in only one area of their being, their life, and truly be representative of the whole.
“Prudence allows for the complete and total release of addictions, an unusual trait on Earth.” (2)
On the Heavenly Blessings which aired on February 5, 2013, Linda Dillon, GD and Suzanne Maresca discussed the divine quality of prudence with Saint Bernadette.
Born in 1844 in France, Saint Bernadette as a young girl was desperately poor and sickly. Guided by a “Lady” who appeared in the midst of a rose bush, to dig in the mud, she found a spring. The people of her village, the police and the District Attorney, many of them powerful male figures, tried to stop her from digging. But from her digging, wonderful healing waters appeared, the healing waters of Lourdes.
Saint Bernadette used her extraordinary life to examine how as lightworkers today, we can be prudent with our actions, with ourselves and with one another:
“I am Bernadette. Bonjour. … [I] speak to you from my experience as a human being, as a young girl and later as a woman, no not a nun, a woman who chose her path despite many obstacles.
“Yes, I speak to you about Prudence, but I also speak to you about these obstacles, what you will call human obstacles, because let me tell you, when I began to share, first with my sister and my good friend Marie France that I was seeing a “Lady”, not only were they afraid, they thought that I was crazy.
“And you, my friends, have experienced much the same thing when you have said ‘Well, we are going to shift dimensions, we are going to take care of one another, we are going to lift up out of the poverty in every sense of the word, of the human existence, and we are going to be prudent in our actions, not only with ourselves, but with one another. We are not going to interfere in the passage of another being, but we are going to be there as support and sometimes the observer.’ Many have thought you crazy, no?
“And it does not matter because you are being true to your sacred self and you are practicing not only prudence but you are also practicing temperance and balance and moderation. And, when you are a way-shower, this is of particular importance.” (3)
She says the practice of Prudence helps us to know when to speak and when to be still and say nothing, either working or simply being with others, “When you are a teacher or a channeler. . . you know very well when to say something and when to keep quiet.
“And this is a very important quality, to know exactly where to place the word, where to place the energy, where to place the look in the eye, the smile on your lips, the touch of the hand that is encouragement not theft and when to stay still and understand that in that quietude that you are holding the energy for the person or the group that you are working with.
“[Prudence helps us to know] that this is something that they need to proceed with, that they are perhaps not quite ready to hear, or that it is something that they need to discover for themselves.
“This quality of giving others the opportunity to discover something for their selves is often overlooked and underrated.” (4)
She compares learning prudence to learning how to skate, ride a surfboard, ride a bicycle, or ski. Similarly “there is much instruction available to you on the sacred passage, but there is that moment where you find your center of balance and everything falls into position, into place, it clicks in.”
“And that is not something that can be taught and even when the instructor demonstrates it time and time again it only happens when it occurs for you and it is this place of your center of balance.” (5)
Saint Bernadette tells us that this is the time to find that place of balance, that place of moderation.
“Moderation … particularly in the current western civilization is not always a very popular notion and yet it is an absolutely necessary and essential ingredient to your forward movement in Ascension and in the anchoring of Nova Being and Nova Earth because in moderation there is no high drama.” (2)
Balance does not rule out excitement, she adds.
“When I saw the ‘Lady’ … there was … great excitement in my heart, in my mind. And my very body felt like it was on fire.
“Excitement is absolutely wondrous; it is akin to the Virtue of Awe and Joy. So do not think that prudence is … blasé, it is not, it is in the place of moderation and so it is the balancing between [the] fire and the healing waters.” (6)
Prudence means moderation, all things in correct measure. But it also takes in forgiving of self and proceeding forward with kindness to self.
“Prudence is to acknowledge where you have gone awry, to look at it, to do whatever repair work is necessary, including especially letting it go, to apologize to yourself, to the universe, to whomever you have harmed, and then to proceed.
“It is not to dwell on it day after day after day ‘I made a mistake, I can never go on,’ that is not prudent, that is not kindness so bring it to the practical level of how you live your life.” (2)
Saint Bernadette knew what it was like to have her faith sorely tested just as we as lightworkers are experiencing the same. But within this learning, this experience she says to find our joy and to do what brings us joy:
“So often prudence is seen in the way of denial and that is of the old way. Prudence is not denial. It is being in the balance of your joy and doing, not just thinking or holding faith and trust, but doing what brings you joy.” (7)
Saint Bernadette is with us, helping us to put Prudence into practice, understanding our trials and tribulations, as we in our Ascension process are building Nova Earth.
