Steve: And I know that these are only a few of the people that Dave and The Hope Chest have helped get through these times. It’s working!!!
Also Dave and I have back-up systems in place to maintain the smooth operation of the Hope Chest in the event that Dave “changes locations” at a future date. May I be permitted a small joke and say that that future move is still “up in the air.”
Dave: Your generous contributions continue to bring help, hope and joy to many different families. Here are a few examples of the comments I’ve had the privilege of receiving:
From a family in Texas: “I can’t tell you how happy we are to receive this money! Oh, my gosh! I mean, we’re very grateful……We don’t have a television or even a car now anymore, so we use our internet access for everything…..So our DSL access is very important to us! We used the money you sent us to pay 2 months in advance for our internet/phone use and some groceries.”
From a lady in Hawaii: “Aloha Dave……tears are falling with my deep gratitude of helping me out through this period…..I feel as if I have been given a wonderful gift.”
And one more from a lady in New Mexico: “My heartfelt thanks to you and everyone who donated to the Hope Chest.”
While we wish we could grant every request with the full amount, we are obviously limited based on the contributions that come from you…..the readers of 2012 Scenario. Just know that your contributions are doing what we envisioned….bringing Hope to those in need.
On a practical note, Payal is still working fine for your contributions. In spite of the recent post we still choose to use Paypal because of its widespread acceptance and (usual) ease of use to so many of our readers.
Both Steve and I did have a problem with the accounts being temporarily locked up. But, Paypal was very clear for their reasons. If funds are being received as donations, the account must be established as a nonprofit business. Personal accounts cannot be used for such matters.
It took us while to wade through the process but The Hope Chest is a fully licensed nonprofit business in WA State. If you wish to make a donation by check rather than use Paypal, please send me an email and I’ll reply with our address.
Thanks again for your support.
