A subject is bringing itself to my attention at this moment, looming as one of importance during the times ahead.
There’s so much happening, so much changing, so much expanding occurring that I’m becoming aware of the importance of mastering stress and change.
I was going to say “managing stress and change” but the need seems to be for more than simply management. It’s for mastery. And that again is a tall order. (1)
We may have managed to get this far without encountering the need for stress mastery perhaps, but I don’t think we’ll get much farther.
All change causes stress, even “good” change
All change seems to cause some stress. Anyone who tries to resist change for any reason may find their stress increasing. All resistance pushes a person further into the constructed self and further out of touch with reality.
And even if we respond to change with glee, glee can lead to stress as surely as glum.
We can be really happy about certain changes, as with the arrival of prosperity and love. We can be ecstatic. We can be joyful.
Archangel Michael said to me in a personal reading on June 16, 2011 relating to Disclosure: “We want it to be controlled excitement, openness for discussion, … but we don’t want it — which is going to be your desire — to be over-the-top euphoric.”
The changes brought about with even glee can be as stressful as the changes brought by, say, an illness or an accident.
I could illustrate one thing that happens at a time like that by an incident from my own life. I was gleeful that so many lightworkers were identifying themselves to the Golden Age of Gaia and wanting to join us in our work.
However I got euphoric, careless, and humorous and made gaffes, which threatened my constructed self or, to be more precise, my self-image.
At times of glee, one is in danger of going too far, making a gaffe, bringing the house down on one’s head. Anyone tightly holding on to the constructed self and image management too tightly will enter a time of high stress when they let themselves go into glee.
Had I responded by simply managing my image, I probably would have succumbed to the stress. I had to rescue myself from imprudence or foolishness (“over-the-top euphoria”) in the face of delight by getting bigger, which I’ll discuss at greater length below.
But at the same time, as if that weren’t enough, unexpressed joy can be an upset. If we can’t find anyone who can hear us, appreciate the space we’re in, or join us in that glee, that in itself can trip us into unwanted feelings.
We make distinctions between eustress and distress, “good stress” and “bad stress,” but all stress takes us away from our center and locates us in our periphery, where we’re separated mentally and emotionally from the wellspring of love, wisdom, prudence, etc., located in the heart or center.
What therefore is to be done about stress? It’s something we won’t escape considering, I think.
Getting bigger
The first thing that comes to my mind is not to resist the push for expansion, for growth, for getting bigger. Because the present is one of those times when the need to get bigger is written into things. And resisting the inevitable is crazy-making, stressful par excellence.
There’ll be no escaping getting bigger. One cannot take on the goal of building Nova Earth and not invite the necessity of expanding and mastering the stress that comes with the work. One cannot open to Ascension in a world that knows nothing of it or welcome galactics to a society in which many fear them and also not experience an increase in stress.
Let’s look again at the increase in lightworkers wanting to join us our work.
That meant that I was meeting more new people than I ever had in my life (and I’m a monk by nature!). The amount of time I spent a day in contact was eating into everything else. I had to do something to make things manageable.
So Big Steve (my “better sense”) arose to to take care of Little Steve. I was forced to get bigger, to expand to save myself from focusing on the stress and suddenly imploding (as Archangel Michael said could happen). (2) Big Steve started to sort out my priorities one by one in the face of Little Steve feeling overwhelmed.
I had to sharpen my discernment as I extended my contacts. I had to assist myself to get through the experience of increasing my circle so significantly in so short a time. One reason after another rolled out of my mind for getting bigger.
Remaining grounded
The second thing that arose for me was the necessity of remaining grounded.
Linda Dillon begins her Tsunami of Love and Thirteenth Octave meditations (I believe) with the suggestion that we strongly connect to Gaia so as not to fly off into space.
I found myself one day actually envisioning latching a strong hook to an iron rod in the middle of Gaia in order to stay grounded. At that moment I saw the utter necessity of staying rooted in these times. Whether such an envisioning actually results in something or simply acts on the mind, it did lead to me feeling grounded.
Simplifying
The third felt necessity was to keep everything as simple as possible. I felt a strong desire to simplify everything in my life that was capable of being simplified.
I let go of attachments to favorite foods and set routines. I felt the need not to have my attachments cause me to collapse through trying to satisfy them or stick to them.
At first the felt need to simplify began as a desire to throw out unused belongings but very quickly it became about simplifying my thoughts and desires generally. Then it led to a desire to meditate. All of this had the effect of clearing up the airwaves of unnecessary noise (clamoring thoughts) and that settled me down.
Getting serious about commitments
The fourth felt necessity was to toss aside all things that didn’t lead to the service of the Mother, to get smart and serious about my commitments.
I surrendered to the agenda of growing, expanding, getting bigger. Anyone who wishes or tries to remain small or play small may have a hard time in this next phase of our preparation for Ascension and building Nova Earth, I think.
As I said in the beginning of this post, that seems to be the overriding pull on us these days. We call it “rising to the occasion” or “taking on a big project.” But in reality the demands and stress of change are confronting us and requiring all of us to get bigger.
On and on the alterations in my behaviour went. I found myself going through a makeover in the face of my comprehension of how quickly and extensively stress can increase as we really dig into our lightwork. And it sobered me.
Reducing stress any way we can
Stress reduction, relaxation, time to oneself – all of these will increase in importance in the time ahead. Meditation, clearing barriers, taking time to breathe and smell the flowers along the way – these will cease being luxuries and become necessities as we really dig into our work.
Using the Company’s higher-dimensional strategies such as immersing ourselves in the violet flame, asking that stress be removed, going into the healing chambers aboard ship, etc., also can be used.
And all of this is the hidden side of lightwork – the mastering of change and stress.
But it’s becoming increasingly pressing and important.
