How many of us are introverts (like me) and feel guilty about it?
How many make excuses for not attending parties? For not wanting visitors to drop in on you for a week or two? For not enjoying movies or football games or picnics?
When I really got that there was a word for us (“introverts”), I shed a heavy burden of guilt and shame.
Pat shared a wonderful video on the subject, which I’d like to pass along. Susan Cain has more on the subject on Youtube.
Write-up: “In a culture where being social and outgoing are prized above all else, it can be difficult, even shameful, to be an introvert. But, as Susan Cain argues in this passionate talk, introverts bring extraordinary talents and abilities to the world, and should be encouraged and celebrated.”
