I’m often asked by people what they can and can’t take with them to the Fifth Dimension.
We’ve all heard the cliche that “you can’t take it with you.” That statement is as true about the transformation we call “Ascension” as it is about the transition we call “death.” Both are interdimensional journeys in which the objects of one dimension cannot be brought forward.
But that’s not the end of the discussion. The answer has two parts. On the one hand, we can’t take anything with us.
But on the other hand we can recreate in the Fifth Dimension the objects we were fond of in the Third. So we’ll only be temporarily deprived.
SaLuSa tells us that “the old creations of yours are unable to be carried forward.” (1) However, he adds. “as sad as it seems to be losing that which is so familiar to you, it is but a passing phase in your evolution.” (2)
In the first place, he says, “nothing that you currently own will have any value or need to travel with you. All that you require is yours for the asking, and you will eventually exercise your power of thought to create exactly what you want.” (3)
We’ll have no trouble being able to reproduce whatever we once had by a process analogous to memory.
“You can create from memory anything that existed previously. You can therefore allow matters to follow their path on Earth, knowing that in real terms you cannot lose anything at all.” (4)
“When you can create exactly what you need for your comfort and happiness, what more would you want?” (5)
“We know there will be some sadness felt at the prospect of leaving all of your possessions behind, but it is but a small price to pay knowing that your every desire will be fulfilled in the higher dimensions.” (6)
Secondly, we’ll look upon the notion of ownership in a different way when we have unlimited ability to create and discard and create anew.
“In the ultimate process of Ascension when you take your place in the higher dimension, you will have a different outlook where ownership is concerned, as material possessions are no longer necessary. You create exactly what you want and re-create again if desired.” (7)
If our concern is that we’ll lack things we need, SaLuSa reassures us.
“You cannot take anything with you and it is totally unnecessary, as all that you will need will be provided. In fact your needs will be considerably less, as you will experience the joys of having a new body. It will be lighter and more of energy rather than physicality. Consequently much of your bodily input will come directly from the energy around you. Also with an ever-healthy body you will not need to replenish it as you do now. Since you will eventually create through the power of thought, you will not be wanting for anything at all.” (8)
Thirdly, we project into the future from the way we feel in the present. In Third-Dimensionality, we believe that a lot of our joy comes from possessions. Even though this sense we have is not true, we believe it is.
But in the Fifth Dimensions, the bliss we feel will have nothing to do with possessions. It’ll be our native state. And it’ll far outweigh anything we’ve felt here.
Mata Amritanandamayi once coached us on this matter, if we but substitute “the ascended state” for “within”: “The happiness that we get from worldly objects is only an infinitesimal fraction of the bliss that we get from within.” (9)
Matthew says a similar thing: “The triteness of possessions and fame will give way to the treasure of knowing the godself.” (10)
SaLuSa reminds us that our quality of life will increase dramatically, dwarfing the amount of attention we give to possessions:
“As a result of Ascension the quality of your life will increase a hundredfold, and you will be surrounded by beauty and perfection. Not least of all you will be at One with everything, and enjoy a happy and fulfilling life.” (11)
“Whatever you leave behind when you rise up, you will have absolutely no regrets, as nothing can compare with the beauty and perfection of the higher realms.” (12)
Thus it’s true that we’ll need to leave our possessions behind in the Third Dimension. But it’s also true to say that we’ll be able to create them anew, effortlessly, with our enhanced powers in the Fifth Dimension. Moreover, the bliss we feel in the ascended state will make possessions amount to very little compared to now. We don’t lose by any stretch of the imagination by ascending. Far from it. We’re immeasurably enriched.
