The problems we’ve been having on the site are apparently traceable to legacy and current plug-ins and their conflict with WordPress updates.
Our IT guru Chris will be reworking our code and plug-ins to get rid of the anomalous behavior.
Readers are now reporting that they can access the site. If you’re returning after a pause away, please be sure to print off this page which has workarounds in case we face this problem again.
Again sorry for the inconvenience.
Some readers are reporting that the anomaly has lifted. IT are continuing to work on it.
Facebook is apparently fine.
Folks, we are aware of the anomaly the site is exhibiting.
Some readers, when they come to the site, are seeing only stories from a day ago.
We have an IT person working with us now and he’ll be looking into the problem.
I’m not sure if people in that situation can still see the correct “Recent Articles.” But if so, that would allow them to navigate the correct edition of the site.
Also, if you receive the Feedblitz daily digest or RSS daily feed, you can use that too to access a story.
Evidently rebooting and emptying the cache have not proven effective here.
Kay sends in this workaround until we have the problem fixed:
“I am also getting the older version of the website but found that if I go to the search website feature on the older version and type in the current date January 8, 2016 it will show current posts. If I choose one of the current posts then I am able to see a list of all current posts at the bottom of the page.”
We had a problem earlier this morning that seemed to relate to plugins. That was addressed and is now gone.
We’re looking into the other problem. I apologize for the inconvenience.
And, yes, I do get the irony that those people who need to read this article cannot access the site. Catch 22.
