This information will also be posted on our Facebook page at: Golden Age of Gaia/Facebook. We’ll see if we can send it out to the newsletter/RSS feed in its full content form later today. If this can be done, it will be.
Thanks to Alex, who burned the midnight oil to research this and come with a variety of remedies for this uncommon ill. Very few people are having problems, but for those that do, it’s upsetting.
We do care about all our internet family and wish to help everyone we can. Please understand that we’re limited on what we can do from our end. The problems we’ve run into with this so far have been due to one of the conditions listed below.
Of all of these problems listed below, we’re helpless to fix them for anyone, so we hope this information will help those affected to help themselves.
Here’s what Alex put together to help you get access again:
In recent months, many websites and internet service providers have tightened up security to avoid the risk of cyber hacking. We saw the evidence of why with they’ve done so with some websites being taken down and also being held for hostage. We’ve updated the blog platform in an effort to protect our content from cyber attack, but also to provide our users with a safer experience.
Many things, such as your web browser, internet service provider, firewall settings, “cookie” handling and virus protection can interfere with access to the blog.
If you can view the blog on a mobile device, then it is most likely your browser, ISP or a computer protection program that is causing the issue. If you have the ability, take your computer to a web hot spot and see if you can access the site. You could also ask a friend to access the web address to see if they can load the page. This will help you to focus where the issue may be.
There is also a possibility that your computer contains malware. Many servers will not accept connection from a computer that contains a virus. Doing a full virus scan and also a malware scan may detect the problem, but such generic programs won’t always find them.
If you suspect your computer is infected, please visit one of the many online computer support discussion forums for assistance. There’s a variety of them offering FREE assistance in service to the internet community. Some very smart and savvy people are out there serving in this fashion. Bless their hearts…
We’ve created the following list of suggestions to try. These have assisted others in regaining access to the blog.
First, go to your browser tools>options>advanced>network.
Clear your internet Cache and hit update or save.
Next, go to tools>options>privacy and clear your internet history and cookies. Hit save.
You may wish to see if “enabling cookies” helps as well.
Go to tools>options>privacy, then under History, click enable custom setting. Then click enable cookies and set accept third party cookies to always, for the purposes of this test. Hit save.
Then, go to tools>options>security, click exceptions and add in the website address for Golden Age of Gaia. Please add both the https:///www.goldenageofgaia.com version and the https://goldenageofgaia.com version, and then save.
You may also choose to power down your computer modem. Unplug the modem completely from its power source, and leave it unplugged for 5 minutes.
During this time, restart your computer. When your computer has started again and you see the log in screen, plug in your modem again. It will run through a series of tests and then show a connection to your internet service provider.
Log back into your computer and open a new browser.
We’d suggest you Google Golden Age of Gaia and click the URL they provide (in the top search field of your browser), then re-save that as a new bookmark in your favorites. This process resets your IP address and should give you access to the blog.
If you continue to have problems, please call your internet service provider and ask if you have a static IP address. Some people can get on the site when they switch to a dynamic IP address.
Try directing your browser directly to the IP address. Go to this site below and type in the name of the website you wish to access. When the IP address appears, copy and paste it into your browser. If you can view the site that way, the issue is with your computer, browser or security settings.
