Happy Thursday, dear friends. I want to wish a very happy Thanksgiving to all our friends in the US. We don’t really celebrate the pseudo-historical basis for Thanksgiving here in our home. We focus on gratitude for the many gifts we have been given and the forces that brought us all together.
When I am eating any meal, I often look at my food and think about the magical coalescence of molecules that came together to create the meal. The elements contained in the molecules are ancient, and followed various paths through many different forms to end up on my plate. It really is a miracle.
The people and events in our lives are a lot like that. Some come from far away to touch our hearts, and become anchors in our lives. I know I wouldn’t even be here, if it were not for the Chinese communist revolution that pushed my Greek dad forward, from his birthplace in Shanghai, on his life journey through many countries. It finally led him to meet my English mother in a coat closet, at a party in Brooklyn, New York. That story always reminds me of how the universe bends over backwards to make things happen, and I am deeply grateful for that reality.
Today, I am so thankful for all our blessed readers here at the Golden Age of Gaia, who come together as lightworkers to add their sparkle and love to building Nova Earth. To honor that, today’s news is brought to you entirely by readers, sharing what they find interesting and wish to share with you.
What if conservatives in the US have climate change wrong?
This opinion piece, by Paul B. Farrell, recently appeared on Market Watch. Market Watch is an outlet published by Dow Jones & Co., to supply market, business, and financial information to over 16 million users monthly. This outlet is considered mainstream.
Farrell asks us a question. What if the US conservative right wing is wrong about capitalism and global warming? He then develops a case for wide-spread revolution against the power-elite ruling structure. While his opinion may be dramatic, what is even more dramatic is the fact it appeared on a mainstream business site.
Opinion: If the Right is wrong on climate change, the Earth burns by Paul B. Farrell on Market Watch
The indigenous community calls for unified action to protect the sacred.
This is a beautiful invocation to repair the divine sacred relationship with Mother Earth. It was presented by Hereditary Chief Phil Lane, Jr., at the Global Indigenous Wisdom Summit in mid-November.
With so many avenues of lightwork available, and so many paths to service, it is interesting to see the sacred tenets being voiced here in community with the indigenous peoples of the world.
Sweden’s unique approach to prostitution.
Prostitution used to be legal in Sweden, but in 1999 the country enacted legislation to change that. They did it in a way that was different from all other countries. They flipped the paradigm by categorizing prostitution as gender violence.
Instead of criminalizing the acts of prostitutes, they criminalized the act of paying for sex. The government also created ample social service assistance for prostitutes wanting to get out of the sex trade.
Sweden had some bumps along the way. They completely retrained the police force and judiciary system, to eliminate patriarchal bias. They also criminalized sex trafficking in 2003 to close some loopholes in the system.
The outcome of the legislation shows a huge decrease in the number of brothels, sex workers, and foreign women trafficked into the country for the sex industry. Child prostitution has declined significantly, as well as organized crime activity in the sex industry. Over 60% of prostitutes in the system, as of 1999, have used social service support to get out of the sex industry.
Other countries are looking at the Swedish legislation as a case study to address the situation in their nations. While prostitution remains illegal in most nations, there is some level of legalization and regulation in many parts of the world, with varying degrees of success.
An off-grid experience inspires a couple to build a free food factory.
Dan Martin and his wife left successful careers and moved out to the boonies in Texas. They lived off-grid for six years, with no communication with the outside world. During that time they built everything they needed to support themselves, and learned how to successfully produce their own food.
The basis of Martin’s food producing system is hydroponics, and it yields so much high quality, organic food that it inspired him to create a platform to provide food for free. His ultimate goal is to replace the current food production paradigm with local free food factories.
This first video gives a bit of background on his current set up, with some footage of his hydroponic farming unit.

Comedian George Carlin’s take on reversing the order of life.
The late American comedian, George Carlin, had a way of looking at life personally, and on a societal level, that was focused and insightful. He cut through the clutter and got right to the heart of the matter.
This funny look at reversing the order of life experience is a great example of his quirky humor. He actually has a great point here!

And finally…
JP Sears brings a little levity to spirituality.
As we move along the spiritual path, there are many things we once embraced and then released. With more and more beings waking up, folks are all at different points on their journey.
This video is a tough-in-cheek look at being ultra-spiritual. I laughed my butt off watching it because I recognized a bit of myself, and attitudes I held along the way.
