Poverty, hunger and food banks co-exist; without poverty and hunger, food banks would have no reason to exist. In Canada, for example, close to a million people visit food banks each month. The level of food bank use has not dropped below 700,000 per month for the last 15 years. This feels like a monumental issue to address. What can we do?
Here’s one initiative that a spiritual group following Dhjwal Khul [Lao-Tzu] has begun:
A Call to End World Poverty Consciousness: Master Djwhal Khul’s Challenge
On Monday, October 13, 2014 Master Djwhal Khul issued a challenge to our group to do 3,000,000 mantras before the end of the year in order to help dissolve global poverty consciousness. …
Our spiritual teacher has challenged us to act by dissolving the thought forms that create poverty consciousness on our planet.
As a group, working as One Mind with One intention, [he] suggested … chanting a two-word mantra – “Shreem Brizee” – to a total of 3,000,000 times before the New Year! To find out more and join in click on this link:

If this group is willing to chant a mantra 3,000,000 times, we can find a way to address poverty as well.
On our recent road trip, Steve and I witnessed groups of lightworkers interested in coming together up and down the West Coast of America. Will poverty, hunger and homelessness be some of the first issues they tackle?
Certainly this has been a theme from Archangel Michael and the Council of Love. Back in August of 2013, Archangel Michael told us that the first flows of abundance are to go to “the disenfranchised”.
We, at the Golden Age of Gaia, have held the vision of anchoring in more and more small monthly subscriptions so the Hope Chest’s ability to extend help not only to our fellow lightworker’s in need but to as AAM says, “those who think that they are alone, isolated and forgotten and to bring them to the warmth of Gaia’s hearth fire” gains momentum:
AAM: We are talking about: begin at home and get your feet wet. Begin with the disenfranchised adults, women, then men, then children, because the children will benefit right off the bat regardless, and then extend yourself to what you have thought of as the marginalized populations – yes criminals, those who have been locked up because people label them mentally ill. Then spread your wings across the globe. (AAM, Aug. 6, 2013.)
Food banks across the country report year after year that the high cost of housing is one of the key factors that drive the need for their services. Food Banks Canada illustrates the dire need in this YouTube:

And below is a comprehensive report outlining hunger and food bank use in Canada with recommendations for change:
As Archangel Michael said in that same reading, “There will be no shortage of worthwhile projects, particularly in the care, feeding, housing, nurturing, and teaching of those who have been disenfranchised. It is bringing to the forefront yes, not just for women, although that will be the focus of much energy particularly in the beginning, but for those who have simply lost their way.”
