God: Here and Now is Where You Find Joy, channeled by Heart Song Meditation, September 27, 2013 at https://heartsongmeditation.wordpress.com
It is easy for My Children to underestimate the value of the present day.
It is easy to get swept up in thoughts of the future and the past and miss out on the present moment.
This is not to say that there is no value in planning. It is good to have a plan. It is good to try and anticipate upcoming events. There is much mischief that can be prevented with proper planning.
But there are an awful lot of things that cannot really be planned for. There are things which can only be experienced. Life must be lived. And, especially when dealing with other people, you cannot always accurately predict how things will go. It is easy to drive yourself crazy rehearsing a dozen ways that things can go wrong and then they end up going smoothly.
All too often your pictures of the future are overly influenced by fear.
You need to be aware that, fear is not the only culprit here. Even hope can pull you off balance. You can look forward hoping for and imagining a bright future or at least a future brighter than the present. But, when you do that often the present seems dim. Your imagined future can make the present seem bleak. Your hopes and dreams don’t always make your life better.
This is not to say do not dream. It is good to dream and it is good to plan; but, these things can be over done. They can be done purely out of habit. Mindlessly imagining either a bright or terrible future is as bad for you as many other forms of mindless self indulgence.
When you look forward remember that the future you imagine may not necessarily be better than now. Recognize that there will still be struggles. There will still be challenges and obstacles. There will still be rough days and days when things go smoothly.
This is why I counsel you to let go of the future and dwell in the present. Here and now is where your power lies. Here and now is where your true strength exists. Here and now is where you exist. Here and now is where you find joy.
The past is gone. No matter how bright or bleak it is over and done with. The past has passed and the future is just a dream. They are not real to you. What is real to you is today.
If today is all that is real, doesn’t that mean that today is the best day of your life?
If today is the only Truth, if the present is your only reality it must be the best. It must be the greatest.
Say it aloud, “Today is the best day of my life. Today is the greatest. I recognize that today is a wondrous gift from God. I recognize that today is a blessing. I am glad to be alive. I am glad to be here experiencing this brand new day.”
Let the past fade in importance; it is over and doesn’t matter so much to you.
Let the future fade in importance; it is not yet real and cannot be engaged.
It’s time to break the pattern of overly focusing on that which is only in your own mind. It is time to focus on the here and now. It is time to focus on reality. It is time to enjoy reality. You can enjoy being. You can enjoy working. You can enjoy doing. You can enjoy accomplishing. There is much joy to be found in the here and now. There is joy to be found in the process of creation. There is joy to be found in making your dreams come true.
It is good to have dreams and it is good to have a plan; but, once you have a dream that inspires you your focus needs to shift back to the present. Do not stay caught up in the world of dreams, but focus on the world around you. Focus on bringing the light within into reality. Give life to your dreams. Make your beautiful dreams come alive and share the beauty within with the world.
