Archangel Michael made an interesting distinction in a personal reading I had with him on July 16 through Linda Dillon, which I’d like to discuss here. I apologize that some of it may require an unusual level of concentration to fathom, but I hope the information is valuable enough to reward the effort.
I have to be clear that where he uses the term “emotional plane” he’s not referring to a plane or dimension such as the Astral Plane or Fourth Dimension is. He’s referring to our emotional reality in the Third and Fourth Dimensions.
Likewise when he says “mental plane” here, he doesn’t mean the Mental Plane or Fifth Dimension. (1) He means our everyday mental reality. I’ve deleted a part of the conversation where I was confused by the use of the term “mental plane,” which to me denotes the Fifth Dimension.
The discussion arose because he said that I was on the Fifth Dimension and, while I feel very happy and content, I wouldn’t have said myself that I was on the Fifth Dimension. So I asked him to explain.
Steve: How could I be Fifth Dimensional and not have had sahaja nirvikalpa samadhi? (2)
Archangel Michael: You are looking to the Fifth Dimension as simply being one place or another and you do not know that you are not in training (3) and that you are not on the verge of samadhi. (4)
So it is a preparation and those preparation phases … as we have said, there are many levels to each dimension. And it is impossible really for you – and when we say you we mean you personally and also all of humanity – to be anywhere else at this time other than the Fifth Dimension.
So you are in preparation for your opening, for your bliss. …
As you know what you are doing is becoming the fully awakened and aware and integrated wholeness of your being. But where you are proceeding from and where you are treading through is that you are working through the emotional plane and the mental plane which expresses as thought, sometimes belief, and feeling and emotional reality.
So you are progressing through those levels and coming to a place of absolute awareness, knowingness, bliss, Oneness.
SB: Now the Emotional Plane, I’ve never heard of that before. Is that like the Fourth Dimension?
AAM: The emotional plane is known in the Third, Fourth. We do not wish to suggest that other dimensional realities, or other planes as you would think of it, do not have a quality of emotionality but it is not emotion as you know it.
So you are clearing and you are experiencing things on an emotional and a mental plane, which will really have no existence once you leave that behind.
SB: OK, so when you use a term like the mental plane, you’re not referring to the Fifth Dimension. (5) You mean your own personal mental plane.
AAM: Yes, that is correct.
Perhaps I can add to this discussion from the study of the afterlife to further clarify what AAM is saying.
On the spirit side of life, the Fifth Dimension is called the Mental Plane and there are several subplanes to it. (6)
One can arrive in the first subplane of the Mental Plane (called the “First Heaven”) and not have shed one’s astral body for the mental body (each plane has its own body). The shedding of the astral body is referred to as the “Second Death” in the afterlife and comes after one has been in the First Heaven or first subplane of the Mental Plane for some time.
That Second Death which is the shedding of the astral form is not to be confused with the “second death” that Jesus talked about: “He that overcometh shall not be hurt of the second death.” (7)
Jesus’s second death refers to physical death; his first death would be the death of the ego in enlightenment, which is followed by the second or physical death, of which the enlightened being (depending on the level of enlightenment) would not be hurt. The spiritual saying “Die before you die” refers to the first and second deaths.
But the Second Death on the Mental Plane is the shedding of the astral body and emergence in the mental body, which lies inside the astral body. It’s like a snake shedding its skin.
The point I’m making is that a person can be inside what we would conceive of as the Fifth Dimension and not be emergent in the equivalent of what we would call the crystalline or light body. To put that another way, we can be inside the Fifth Dimension but not have experienced sahaja nirvikalpa samadhi, the level of enlightenment associated with Ascension. We can be inside the Fifth Dimension and not have ascended.
So there is precedent for what Archangel Michael is saying here.
That’s a distinction I did not have before but which makes sense when one considers the situation on the Mental Plane of the afterlife.
We lightworkers are therefore preparing for Ascension. We’re making progress, he told me. We’ve cleared our emotional and mental baggage and we’re now:
“becoming the fully awakened and aware and integrated wholeness of your being … working through the emotional plane and the mental plane which expresses as thought, sometimes belief, and feeling and emotional reality … progressing through those levels and coming to a place of absolute awareness, knowingness, bliss, Oneness.”

(2) Sahaja nirvikalpa samadhi, according to the Divine Mother and Archangel Michael, is the level of enlightenment associated with Ascension.
(3) All of us lightworkers have already experienced Ascension in other worlds. Otherwise it’s unlikely we’d be here serving Earth’s Ascension.
(4) This may have been an error in conveyance. It seems more likely that he intended to say “on the verge of samadhi,” a phrase that would make more sense here.
(5) The Mental Plane vs. the mental plane.
(6) Commentators vary on how many subplanes there are in the Mental Plane, some hiving off the last three and calling them the “Causal Plane”; others including all of the subplanes within the Mental Plane.
That is only one of the dozens and dozens of differences among afterlife commentators, which is why I felt we needed a “new map of heaven.” Alas, I did not get a tenth of the way along that I wished I had. Much, much, much work remains to be done.
