A reader has asked me to offer my opinion on how to cause the bliss to rise and be experienced in us.
Before starting out, I need to make what is becoming a standard disclaimer that I am not qualified to be a spiritual teacher. I am not an enlightened being in this lifetime. As a starseed, like you, chances are that I’ve been enlightened in other lifetimes.
That comes with being a starseed here to help with Ascension and is not unique to me. It applies to you as well. But I have no evidence this lifetime of being enlightened.
But I do enjoy discussing these matters just because they’re inherently joy-filled subjects. It gives me bliss, quite frankly, just to talk about them.
So let me say first off that I don’t think I can put the case better than it has been put in “Bringing on the Bliss” at https://goldenageofgaia.com/spiritual-essays/emergence-2/bringing-on-the-bliss/.
But let me add to what was said there. In particular let me stress that bliss is who we are, just as “living” or “human” is who we are. God is everything. Therefore, we must also be God. And God is bliss. Therefore we must also be bliss.
Thus, there’s no need to acquire bliss, get bliss, or find bliss since bliss is who we are. There is a need to remove the barriers to the experience of bliss and that in fact is what so many of our sources are continually talking about.
They list the barriers to experiencing bliss repeatedly: anger, hatred, resentment, worry, fear, and so on. These are not divine qualities. They’re human qualities, which, in the course of our journey, we let go of.
They discuss them under headings like traumatic memories from the past, ancient issues, old baggage, etc. And they give us many ways of releasing these barriers – sourcing vasanas, releasing old issues, tapping, transmuting, etc. All of these ways clear the brush, so to speak, and unconceal the bliss that’s always, already there.
But looking at the matter from another angle, one could say that being more godlike releases the bliss. The purpose of life is to be like God so as to experience God. Being like God involves living from the new paradigm of the divine qualities, which include love, peace, harmony, compassion, truth, etc. These qualities are characteristics of God.
So for instance, speaking the truth clears aside the brush of lies and manipulations that conceals the bliss. Expressing love rather than resentment aligns the character with the divine, releasing the bliss. Opting for peaceful and harmonious relations rather than conflict unconceals our divine nature, including the bliss that we already are.
The whole of life is designed to present us with situations (and this is in answer to a second reader’s question) that persuade us over the long run to prefer the divine qualities to the self-serving qualities.
That’s also what the law of karma is there to do. The law of karma keeps us from going too far to the right and too far to the left in our return journey to God. It straightens out our path and keeps us moving towards reunion with God by the direct route. It therefore functions as a means of unconcealing the bliss that we already are.
If we cooperate with karma by seeing that what we sow we reap and then sewing only wholesome seeds, we reproduce the conditions in our lives that promise bliss instead of regret and sorrow. By bringing us sorrow when we sew the seeds of sorrow, it shows us how to bring us bliss by sewing the seeds of bliss. One reader said recently that we don’t discuss the law of karma. Yes, we do and have many times.
However long it takes us to get how the laws of life operate, in some life we actually do see it. Oh my gosh, these laws of life function in a coordinated way to move us by the quickest path back to reunion with God. Oh my heavens, look at this! Life is designed! Fancy that. It has features to it that assist us to return to God. Reincarnation, the natural laws, the longing for liberation. Some great Architect is visible in these circumstances and features who planned how life would work to accomplish its purpose: Our inevitable return to That whence we came.
If you were to ask me which of all the actions I could take would assist me most to unconceal the bliss that I am, I suppose I would say: Speak the truth as deeply as you can (but speak it harmlessly). Another person might say: Love your neighbor as yourself – so this is simply my personal pick. And another would say: Serve the Lord thy God with all your might. All would be accurate. All genuine paths lead to God.
But I personally have had the most dramatic success with speaking my truth just as deeply, as revealingly, and as transparently as I can. The first line of the first poem I ever wrote was: “I want you to know me deeply, truly as I am.” It’s amazing to feel the rise of bliss in oneself when one has spoken the truth so deeply that it fairly splits the space. Maybe it’s the showman in me that prefers this route where probably more people would prefer loving.
So if we wish to invite the bliss that we are to rise within us and make itself felt on our surface receptors, so to speak, we might wish to begin today to live by the divine qualities, the new paradigm.
We used to think that such a person was a Pollyanna. But when we taste the bliss because we aligned ourselves with the qualities of the divine, we have our reward and it compensates for all the work, all the suffering, all the sacrifice of many years.
