Folks, before writing in and reporting anomalies with the site, be sure to clear your web browser’s cache of cookies, temporary files, etc. Clearing the cache dispels a lot of anomalies. Thanks.
Yes, we will be renaming the discussion group and other Yahoo sites connected with this one.
We’ll keep this post up a wee bit longer to communicate on matters connected to the redesign that arise.
Folks, we’ve just completed the redesign of our site to move it away from The 2012 Scenario, now that we’re in 2013, to Golden Age of Gaia – the creation of a New World, a world that works for everyone.
I personally feel like a proud parent, the hospital staff just having put a new baby in our arms. Anthony Morrison has done a beautiful job or redesigning the graphics and Casey has labored hard at a reorganization of the site. Stephen Cook also played a major role in the makeover.
I’m going to let Stephen tell the story of the site’s new name in his words. Stephen says:
OUR NEW NAME:
Archangel Michael strongly guided us to the name as far back as September/October. He ‘nudged me, at around 5.30 am one morning! I sought Linda Dillon’s advice and then we cross-checked with Michael and we got his confirmation – “Yes, Golden Age of Gaia!”
OUR NEW URL:
When Casey first looked into things back in October, the domain name we wanted (and now have) wasn’t available – so he originally bought thegoldenageofgaia.com.
But serendipitously, when we just happened to look after Jan 1, 2013, there it was: goldenageofgaia – no ‘the’. And yes, it was now available. Casey thinks Archangel Michael and the Galactics played a role in this!
We also jokingly say we have gone inter-Galactic and are now reaching way beyond the world wide web as we don’t have any www in front of our new url. It’s just: goldenageofgaia.com
OUR NEW DESIGN:
It took a few go-rounds and a few ideas being tossed back and forth before we got to where we got to today’s new look, which Anthony created.
The intention is that the new Golden Age of Gaia masthead symbolizes the next evolution of the previous 2012 Scenario site masthead, which depicted a subdued landscape full of expectancy: awaiting things to come to fruition; awaiting the New Earth to come into bloom; awaiting our wishes for the future; awaiting our creation of the New Earth.
Now Gaia’s age of brilliance bursts forth out of the landscape, heralding the beginning of the Golden Age where glories unfold. It’s peaceful, calm, hopeful and enticing.
Its ‘goldenness’ is illustrated by the spectacular, inviting presence and allure of our new majestic city of light: where the heart and focus of advanced technologies and the expectancy of qualities beyond our current comprehension await. The city glows in radiance and is a strong symbol for the new world we now find ourselves in – an age like no other, which will elevate and amaze us.
Our ever-trusty, much loved starship also figures in the new design. Previously watching over us and hovering above the ground, ‘our’ ship has now landed, representing the inclusion of our galactic brothers and sisters into our new paradigm of life, where we’ll work together to create and rebuild the New Earth.
Finally, Archangel Michael’s popular and favourite blue surrounds the city in honour of him and his colourful presence on his beloved platform, as we continue to embrace audiences around the world.
I’ll be asking Casey to explain the overhaul of the site later. We’re using the opportunity to make a number of changes to the site.
Thanks to Stephen, Anthony and Casey, the forces behind the site’s redesign.
