Dear supporter of IndictBushNow,
Just days after Bush retreated rather than face arrest and mass protests in Switzerland; the momentum for indictment continues to grow. This is a global movement and we, the American people, must do our part.
Supporters and members of the movement to Indict Bush are on the move. Congratulations to everyone who is making this movement expand its breadth and reach. Together, all of us are building the pressure.
On Valentine’s Day, a broad coalition of U.S. human rights groups presented Spanish consulates and officials with an open letter to the Spanish public. People delivered letters in New York, Boston, Chicago, Houston, San Francisco, Los Angeles and Miami.
The letter was delivered in advance of the March 1 deadline for the possible prosecution of the “Bush Six” set by Spanish Judge Eloy Velasco. The Bush Six are the Bush-era government lawyers who created the “legal” justification for torture in clear violation of international law. The Six include former White House Counsel and Attorney General Alberto Gonzales, along with John Yoo, Jay Bybee, David Addington and others.
It was a court in Spain that indicted Chilean dictator Augusto Pinochet. With pressure, it could be a court in Spain to deal a major blow to the Bush administration torturers.

Like Pinochet, Bush can’t hide Forced to cancel speech in Switzerland for fear of arrest |

George W. Bush has his back to the wall. He just cancelled a speech in Switzerland due to fear of mass protests and his arrest for authorizing the torture of detainees at Guantánamo Bay.
Bush is afraid of another Pinochet incident. In 1998, late Chilean dictator Augusto Pinochet was arrested in London on a warrant from Spain for multiple crimes committed during his brutal, bloody reign.
Human rights activists all over the world have pledged to seek arrest warrants wherever Bush travels outside the United States. Already, legal proceedings in Spain and Germany target Bush and his henchmen for their crimes. Bush cannot hide, just like Pinochet couldn’t.
We owe the people of Switzerland, Spain and Germany a debt of gratitude for their steadfastness and continued activity to bring Bush to justice. We can do no less.
Bush and Cheney were hoping that the outrage against them would die, but it never will.
We in the IndictBushNow movement are committed to ensure that Bush will be pursued wherever he goes for his war crimes, torture policies and attacks on civil rights and civil liberties. We demand justice.

An appeal from Iraq war veteran Michael Prysner to IndictBushNow supporters |
“I strongly encourage everyone to support March Forward! and the Iraq and Afghanistan veterans by helping them get to Washington, D.C. for the historic and important civil resistance at the White House on December 16. This next generation of young veterans is the generation that can stop these wars.”

Dear supporter,
Nearly eight years ago, I deployed to Iraq at age 19. They told me it was a “just” and “necessary” war. I clearly remember George W. Bush and his administration spewing “fact” after “fact” to rush me and thousands of other young people into war, and to mercilessly carpet bomb an innocent population.
My firsthand experience in Iraq revealed the Bush administration’s rationale for war to be a complete fabrication. I was fighting a war for profit, for Halliburton, for Big Oil and Wall Street, for the rich.
Like so many other veterans, I became inspired by the hundreds of thousands of people heroically fighting against the war here at home and I joined the ANSWER Coalition and the anti-war movement. I also became an active member of the IndictBushNow.org movement.
