Now is the time to launch a new Gaza flotilla with aid for the people of Egypt.
Now is the time to ask them what they need and supply it. We speak of “foreign aid.” Why not aid this nascent birth of a popular consciousness?
And not an aid that masks an attempt to extend cabalistic control as occurred in Bandeh Aceh after the tsunami or Haiti after the manmade earthquake, but a genuine outreach with supplies and equipment that the people themselves request and need.
If we are sincere in wanting to assist the people of Egypt, this is the time to demonstrate it. Undoubtedtly they wish us to keep our hands off their revolution, but not insofar as providing them with material assistance is concerned.
Hospital ships, emergency supplies, technical support – the dispatch of these at this time is worth more than words to show the Egyptian people where our hearts lie. Never mind supplying them with money to purchase American arms and airplanes, supplied by the military-industrrial complex to keep its incessant wars going and fatten the arms merchants. Supply them with what they need now to establish their new government of the people by the people.
Governments, private donors, ordinary people, now is the time to organize yourselves and come to Egyptian relief. And Tunisian relief. And the relief of other countries who throw off the dictatorial yoke and declare themselves free countries again.
