News Flash: We still have more to go. Ryan informs me that steps remain in the transition process so we could be down for a short while Wednesday as well.
Please don’t email me. I do know what’s occurring.
Oh, my gosh…. Who turned on the lights? Ryan and I have been down in the hold for five hours waiting for someone to rescue us…. So glad you folks came along….
OK, we’re back up and running. Poor Ryan has been doing this whole transfer immediately after having moved his house and without Internet access.
I’m not sure if that means he’s been at someone else’s home or an Internet cafe, but this has definitely been above and beyond the call of duty.
He’s encountered glitch after glitch. I asked him to update WordPress while he was at it and that threw the site into further chaos.
But at last we’re back and Ryan can relax and admire his handiwork.
We are now located on Godaddy instead of Mediatemple. That’s saving me around $200 a month. Ryan and I have now to consider whether we’re well-positioned to handle the next big increase in readership that’ll inevitably follow disclosure.
But for now we’ve reached shore and are just relaxing in the sun and catching our breaths.
There may be a few more wrinkles. The site is loading a mite slowly and that may require us to turn a few more screws.
Ryan has taken down the pages list in the righthand column temporarily. It’ll be up again soon. And he’s busy transferring all the graphics from the old site to the new one so some articles will be without graphics for a time. Any other anomalies you see are a result of the move and will be corrected.
Sorry, for the interruption in service and many thanks to a hard-working Ryan.
I’d better get to work getting caught up in all that’s happening around the world – half of Australia under water, birds dropping and fish turning belly up in Arkansas and Louisiana, and all manner of other dark effects happening….
