Well, I must say I’m gratified by your comments and emails. While I thank you, and may change my mind if I get desperate at some point, for now I’d like to see if we can find a free Internet service provider. If we can then we’ve solved the problem.
I haven’t at any point in my life charged for my writings. Many years after making this determination, I asked my teacher, Mata Amritanandamayi (Ammachi), if I was incurring any karma through my writing and she replied: “Not as long as you don’t charge for it.”
So far I haven’t run into a requirement that I pay for Internet services – except for a small and manageable monthly charge for Angelfire.
So let me first see if I can find an ISP that does not charge. If I can’t and my back is against the wall, I’ll ask for help.
Tash has just told me that the increase in traffic on the site is bringing in charges of $230 a month, which is not something I can sustain.
Starting tomorrow, Ryan and I will have to look for a new home for the site. If anyone knows of an ISP that’s a whole lot cheaper than this, perhaps let me know. At this level of expense, I’ll need to move the site probably within the next month.
