Saturday night. Well, after a cogent comment from one reader who did not like the change very much, I’ll reintroduce the pages back into the righthand column.
Saturday p.m. OK, I’ve deleted the list of pages on the righthand side. The pages themselves can now be accessed via the pulldown menus below the banner. Let me know how you feel about this change. Hopefully it’ll speed up performance.
I also notice that the site has again begun to slow down. We know definitely now that this is an issue with our server and we’re pursuing that avenue.
Saturday a.m. As soon as Ryan has a chance to, we will be making one change to the site to see if we can speed up performance.
You’ll notice that all the “pages” are located in a column down the righthand side of the site. That is one way you can access pages and it allows them all to be seen at a glance.
There is however a second way you can access the pages and that is by clicking on the pulldown menus under the banner. I can only reproduce these menus vertically whereas they are actually arranged horizontally at the top of the home page. Here they are:
- Home
- ABOUT THE AUTHOR
- OF GENERAL AND IMMEDIATE INTEREST
- CONTACT ME
- GALACTIC FORUM
- THE 2012 SCENARIO
- DISCLOSURE
- ASCENSION
- THIS SITE IS PRO-OBAMA
- ACCOUNTABILITY
- NESARA OR THE ABUNDANCE PROGRAM
- 2012 HISTORY
- HUMAN RIGHTS
- SPIRITUAL ESSAYS
- THE PURPOSE OF LIFE
- TOWARD A WORLD THAT WORKS FOR EVERYONE
These are actually menus.
We are considering taking down the righthand list of pages because every time a reader selects one, WordPress cycles through the whole list of pages. We think that by going with just the pulldown menu at the top will improve the speed of loading.
Of course I’d like to hear your feedback once that happens.
But please be aware that the pages have not disappeared. Only the means of accessing them has changed.
I welcome hearing from any reader intelligent in the use of WordPress about the site slowdown. I notice it happened last night and could have been a function of increased traffic.
Thanks,
Steve
